Thread: TC has item decay now...

Test center has item decay on incap. I'm glad I'm a tailor now and not a fighter lol!
Not a big thing. You have to be incapped or killed for anything to happen. And that happens to me occasionally. My clothes are not buffed. No biggie. I throw them away and make new.
Fighters have tons of money. So much they don't know what to do with it. They come into my store and go on spending sprees. And now with the buff tissues, it just gives them another reason to spend there. Matter of fact, I have a Novice and an Master BE supplying me and I still don't get enough.
Big question that a lot of people have is whether or not unequipped items decay when you are incapped. I would hope not. I'd like to think the items in my pack (most of my resources) aren't going to decay when I get jumped by the local Mauler thugs.
From what I've read as it stands now on test anything in your inventory takes a 3% decay hit when incapped, and a 17% decay hit when killed. that's 3+17=20% decay hit each time a spawn of wrixes appears on top of you, or you lag into some random dark jedi master.
Or when pvp'ing and someone incaps you, and waits... and then incaps you, and waits... and then incaps you, and you die. 3+3+3+17=26% decay. Or you get hit by a poison and theres no doc around, and you get incaped every five minutes for the next 2 hours.
Can't see this getting to live in the form it's in, the moaning going on in the developement forum and the test forum has only begun.

Anything in your inventory with a condition takes the hit. Resources and stims are safe, itemswith the 1000/1000 (or whatever number) all take the hit. I'm just waiting for the first time an entertainer leaves my shop with a pack full of clothes, gets incapped on the way to the insurance terminal, and asks me for a replacement/refund ![]()

This is a big deal, and I am glad to see it happen as a function of usage and not merely time-based decay.
My prediction is that when this finally rolls out live, tailors as a whole will sell more clothing, which is a good thing. However, be prepared to see the l33t d00dz running around in their boxers saying such foolish things as:
"0MG!!1!1! meh cl0z w3nt p00f! t3h suxx0r!!1!"
...or something to that effect, heh. ![]()
I'm sure they will tweak it back a bit as a 20% damage hit from an incap/DB does seem a bit extreme.
Now, if we can just get some experimentation, the occasional white/white palettes fixed, and...
I'm glad that decay is being added, but it's ridiculous that items like guns and armor decay with use AND with incap/death. My armor sales are going to take a severe hit if this change is implemented on live as it is now.
I don't think this change will necessarily boost sales for tailors either. It's just far too high and people aren't going to pay thousands every few days, or tens of thousands even if they are wearing a full set of bioenhanced clothing.
Clothing should take a massive decay hit if worn in combat, it IS cloth after all.

Well lots of people seem to be against it so I would no be surprised if the idea was dropped.
I agree. Thereis already a huge uproar. If insurance was a reasonable price I think people would not mind so much, but for some reason they don't seem to be considering this.
