Thread: High level tailored items are still looting.

Back in beta, they decreased the amount and level of weapon drops because weapon crafters were finding it hard to sell to those who could just loot whatever guns they wanted. Some of us on the beta boards repeatedly requested in the tailoring focus thread and other threads that high level tailor drops be stopped as well. I bring this up because I've already seen 2 folks running around in a Robe of Honor, which is a Master Tailor item. I'm pretty sure there are no Master Tailors yet! If there are, tell us how you did it! I've also already seen things from casual wear and field wear that I doubt anyone can make yet. And even some of the clothes I've seen that were in Casual II or Field Wear III are colors that we won't get until Tailoring III or IV.

Characters are running around in clothing that is much nicer than any of us will be able to make for awhile, so they have no reason to buy from us. Most looted clothes are in bad condition, and probably don't have the durability that our experimented clothing has. But since clothing isn't decaying yet that doesn't matter. Also, there's no way to see durability on a completed item, so customers have no way of knowing that our goods are better. I know the combat types want good loot, but it's kind of discouraging.

I'm not saying that no tailor level clothing should loot, but Master Tailor items shouldn't. And looted clothing shouldn't have colors better than Tailoring I or II at the most.

I'm one of those people. I have a white duster from a drop and I love it. I just wish I could make it right now because I have gotten so many requests for it. :-(

I also have personally gotten drops of clothing that I can't make yet as a Novice Tailor. This is especially harsh when you compare to weapon and armor drops that basically consist of CDEF weaponry. Our market is effectively being undercut by NPCs.

Really? That explains it then. I've been seeing people walking around in some high quality stuff on the Naritus server. When I'm pretty sure no one has made Novice Tailor yet.

Either this needs to stop, or decay for clothes needs to be in. It would be better if it stopped altogether though.

Yes. I've already seen a novice tailor on Radiant (congrats at getting there so quickly!), but many of the things I've been seeing are from Casual II, Fieldwear II or above. I keep getting asked if I can make those dusters, and have to explain each time that it may be weeks before any of us can.

The thing about random drops is that they're that...random. People can't plan their outfit with random drops, instead they're stuck with what they've got.

I do agree that adding clothing decay would be most excellent. Most of the looted stuff is found damaged, and that would decrease their shelf life.

NPC should never drop clothing higher than Domestic IV.

If limiting drops for weaponscrafters is a good idea, it's a good idea for tailors too.

yeah ive seen dusters from the highertailoring trees and several people with robes of honor which is in master tailor...

such high level looting should not be permitted or make it very rare.

its not fair to the hard working tailors in the game to get no business from such items when people can just go out, kill a NPC and loot it.

prolly the ex EQ/AO players wondering where their über lewts are. This ticks me off as I am more concerned about the economy than crafting atm. I spend more time on these forums than in game bc of how I effectively see the loot system killing our ability to make a living on something other than deliveries, which btw, are immediately sunk into my harvesters.

Can I start a Stop the Harvester Tipping thread? =)

I mean, just **edit** are the combatants spending all these credits they are so tightwaddish with on? better guns? noone can make them and are giving them away free for 8 points of measly UXP. It takes less time to boot another craft session on tool4. Clothing? doubtful as people are selling better items for 10% of their worth to try to make a credit. houses? why would they need one? it's not like they have any business training.

I'm seriously concerned on this issue..and time will tell. =(

I wouldn't worry about these high level tailor drops. Socketed items are a tailor's selling point. NPC drops do not have sockets. Also, once people collect enough Skill Enhancements that they like, they'll want to have different sets of clothes that boost certain stats.

Personaly, I tend to stay away from NPC clothing for this reason. I don't want to spend 3k on a cloak when it doesn't have any sockets. Especialy if I become fond of said cloak.

I agree, excepet for any Lekku Wraps . I'm jealous of everybody else wearing hats except me (even Mon Cal get those headwraps they can wear). And it's a LOOOOONG way away for any tailor to get to the point of makign Lekku Wraps I believe. Not pursuing tailoring myself, but you can be **edit** sure whomever makes those things first will have the best niche market ever for a while. I just plead with you to not reamour Twi'Lekcredits too bad .

If you can make a lekku wrap on Briaand want to see your creation on a Twi'Lek (and don't have any friends that went Twi'Lek or haven't made any that are) then look up Ahrym I'll write a song about you.

Sollion, judging from your Avacon you're playing a male twi'lek? In that case you're out of luck as far as Lekku Wraps go, as only female twi'leks can wear them (we've tested this during beta). I'm not certain if there are any other headwear taht a male twi'lek can wear, but in all honesty I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'd like to see a list of what can be worn by who exactly.

The NPC loot drops do have sockets. I looted a multi-pocket bandolier last night that was socketed.
