Yay, full decay with bite in publish 10. Rejoice for our renewable income has been implemented. (Though, yes, we want use-based decay, but hey, baby steps.)

Well when things decay, people are left in their underpants. We don't like underpants. It really annoys me when dancers shed their new clothes and dance in their underpants. It really annoys me when people saunter around in their underpants instead of clothes, because they're lazy or cheap. We want people to buy new clothes when their old ones decay. We want underpant wearing to be unacceptable, and undesirable.

My thoughts:

1) More coverage. Think the grannie bra is bad? Boy shorts and a tank top. They won't be getting any tips stripping down to that. It will be more revealing to buy any sort of dancer clothing than to strip down.

2) More embarrassing. Why white boxers when you can have boxers with little hearts on them. The key is to make them ugly, not fun and customizable. Make it more of a faux pas.

3) More expensive. The Imperial Crackdown: an elite corps of the stormtroopers (i.e. the fashion police) should fine people for appearing in public indecently unclad. I'm only half joking on this one.

Mind you, this will only be a certain section of the population. Most normal players will not run around in underpants. But there are always a few people who feel the need to protest, or simply don't care about the delicate fashion sensibilities of their fellow players.

Any thoughts?

Option 4: Factional underwear. My friend suggested (and I almost died laughing and spit on my keyboard) that underpants should have factional symbols on them. Therefore everyone would know your affiliation if you got caught unclad. I don't know why that's so amusing to me, really.

I want a bad fashion TEF. Implement the /fashionWarn command—when a Master Image Designer, Master Bounty Hunter, and Master Tailor /fashionWarn you you become open to attack by and of those professions for 5 minutes. I think that would solve the problem nicely.

Okay, here are some thoughts.

For me, I wish I could wear more clothing. As a wookiee, I could go around completely bare all of the time and not even worry about it, and in fact, be closer to the "ideal" for my species based on the "Star Warsiness" factor. My incentive for wearing clothing is to have something to put my SEA's into, to have a BE enhanced bonus, or to distinguish my character from others. Isn't it the same with most species?

I think that instead of focusing on negative reinforcement, we as players should offer suggestions for positive reinforcement. In other words, instead of punishments for not wearing clothing, we should perhaps have more bonuses (or another type of bonus) for wearing them. The reason that Armorsmiths have business is not because armor is fashionable. It is because armor provides a tangible bonus. Same formany crafting professions.

I am sure some of these things have been said before, but linking clothing to environmental considerations would be pretty nice. If it is hot or cold outside, or raining or blowing sand, clothing isthe first obviousprotection.

The ideas presented here are good ones. But I don't thinkany of it will have a significant effect on repeat sales. And ifa punishmentis made toosevere to replace clothing, then it willlead to resentment for your profession. I think the very best thing that could happen is for you to have more clothing that gives bonuses, similar to BE enhanced clothing. Failing that, you should have a ton of variety and a ton of customization options so that people will want to wear clothes, and have several sets. The destroy on decay will probably be a significant change in itself.

Anyway, I mainly came here to say one thing. More wookiee wearables!!! Wookiee jewelry!!!!

Is decay really the way to go?

I am a wookiee, and wear BE clothing for buffing and awookiee lifeday robe. Im sorry but once decay hits the only item I will be buying is +25 wound treatment sigile waist wrap. It will be the end of me going on a whim and buying clothing because i feel like i want camo for today's hunt.

On decay day you will see tons and tons of people in there underwear. the question is will they hate or love you? will they see you as the bringers of everyone running in there underwear, or the people trying to clothe them?

This change will either hurt you all, or make you there saviours.

I personally believe that it will hurt the proffession. Who wants to buy clothing just to look nice when it will decay? This is putting you all in the same situation of artisans and there customization kits.Sure coloring your vehicle was a novel idea... for about a week. But not many people do it now. Because its a waste of money.

Reason why armor is still being bought is because it gives you real benefits. Weapons are being bought for the same reason. So are buffs, and food. But when was the last time someone said "ill put on my l337 shirt to pwnz3r u!" ?

People dont need clothing to play the game.

The fact is, decay is coming in patch 10. The devs implemented clothing decay upon deathspecifically because they did not want people to be able to wear clothing forever. It is a bug. It is getting fixed. Debating this is moot.

Maybe.

Sounds to me like you shouldn't have supported the overinflated SEA market. Oh well.

I'm sorry if I don't sound at all sympathetic, but to be quite honest I'm not. I no longer care what the rest of the game thinks of me as a tailor—I've been slapped in the face too many times by players who view me as their personal craftslave and devs who seem to want to reinforce that view. So now we're even—you're mad because you're going to lose millions of credits in SEAs, and I'm mad because I've been treated as the bottom rung of crafting since my first day as a tailor. I want the problems with my profession fixed and to be brutally, totally honest I don't care how many millions of credits in SEAs it costs you or any other player.

yeah brutal, but pretty much right too i think the decay thing helps the game as a whole as it does take money out of the game, and there isnt enough of that as it is
