Thread: Tailoring Mandalorian Armor *SPOILERS*

Ok, obviously info is already leaking out about the Mandalorian armor. I was in a group this morning (along with Ell' Kabong, Me-ke, and two nice people we picked up along but whose names elude me) that managed to penetrate a fair amount of the way into the new Death Watch Hideout where were able to pick up some tidbits on Mandalorian armor.

*** WARNING *** SPOILERS! ***

Also be warned that Test is volatile and changes do happen. This may not be exactly what hits live (in fact I already see a patch note about the NPC that gave us this info). Anyway, here's what I know:

  • Yes, Tailors are involved.
  • Yes, so ar AS's and DE's (although it doesn't sound like you will have to have all 3 at once).
  • Yes you have to go into the hideout yourself.
  • Tailors don't make all the armor, just certain pieces (the leggings, belt and gloves). The other pieces are made by the other professions.
  • The Mandalorian armor will require a base piece of Bounty Hunter armor, some Alum obtained in the mines that are part of the hideout and two chemical elements (location as yet unknown).

The source for this information is a poor fellow, an enslaved technician working in the Hideout. Here's what he had to say:

General notes about the Death Watch Hideout thus far: it rocks. It's a ton of fun. It's also huge. We've only explored a small fraction of it. That part has been fairly challenging and has had a cool story and all that. TC has been incredibly unstable of late. This has prevented us from really digging deeply into the place (as the zones keep dropping, more often than every half hour with 10+ people around). IMO, this is definitely the coolest new content added yet and I can say that without having seen the rest. To stress how huge it is, just standing on top of the place you can see what must be at least 200 red dots.

Are there any... ahem... components that tailors have to make, which are then handed off to other professions?

Not sure yet. As soon as I get a full crate of all the different tailor components I have been coerced into taking my tailor/novice marksman down there to craft the stuff. I figure I'll stand there and yell 'bang bang' at the mobs and they will fall over dead from laughter.

i have become a Armor collector. I enjoy haveing all the armor in game (stats don't matter to me). So i am looking foward to the new armors.

However, i think the Mandalorian armor should be incredably rare; come on only Boba has a set. But i do want that green armor

I am very excited to see how this all pans out. And from what I see here it looks challanging for the combatant in me and compelling to the crafter in me... Not to mention that I want nothing more than to have the fabled armor for myself

It'll be interesting to know what sort of rewards the AS, DE and Tailor get apart from the undying love of your local master Bounty Hunter. Sure this is a quest mainly for the armour but there has to be more to it than that, be nice if we got a schematic or two, though thats wishful thinking I expect.

I'll have fun with it. Sure its stuff that we as tailors didn't ask for but its something that the players as a whole have asked for (the mando armor not us being involved lol) I agree that hopefully there is something else in there that we can get as a reward beyond some fool that's looking for better armor to kill a jedi with. Though i'll sure as heck be taking a set or two for myself as i plan on eventually going master BH and need a set for my buddy when he comes back in game.

Maybe I'm missing something…but at what point does he say anything about Tailors? Only specific profession reference I see is to a Master Armorsmith.

A Tailor is the onlyprofession that can craft three of the pieces and it has to be done in the dungeon, so they'll have to drag a Tailor in there if they want the armor.
