Thread: Oppressive texturing that makes colors not take well
- high quality boots
- simple vest
- rugged jacket - too shiny and distorts the colors.
The following items look "dirty" in light colors
- suit jacket
- flex form & muscle shirts
- infiltration suit/ leggings. They look dirty in every color. This is a huge pet peeve.
- wookiee sage's hood
- wookiee decorative waist wrap
- thin striped pants
- low cut topshoulder trim
- mercenary bandolier
- dress shoes
- leather gloves
- heavy leather gloves
- shoulder parts of cold weather jacket (always darker than rest of jacket).
- desert command jacket (main part). Also this is problematic because it is in the leather palette (which is being addressed in the "color" thread)
- bone crest (leather part)
- dress uniform jacket shoulders
Other Concerns
- Noble's skirt: Peach portions on the sides will not color, making the skirt look ugly in most light colors, and many dark colors
- decorative dress:overly aggressive texture makes the bottom portion look like ugly, ripped fishnet instead of 'decorative'
Care to add to the list?
Edit: continually adding to the list, as well as split the items into different categories.

Thin striped pants just do not look good in white (they are gray) because of the thin stripes on the main fabric. When people ask for thin striped pants in white, I always ask if they would like striped slacks instead since they look very simillar (different belt and pockets in the back are the main things) and they can actually be made white. The other one that people ask for all the time is soft undershirt. I don't see any texturing on it, but it always comes out gray.
most of the short gloves have the same color troubles as all leather items, white looks grey. I have seen tanned leather in a beautiful bright white, so why are we so poor at tanning?
of course, I am of the mind that Master Tailors should be given a wider pallete range on ALL items, not just the ones that are designed as "fabric" vs. leather. I also wish the metal colors were more clear. If you shine up a piece of aluminum and then apply a blue color to it, you are going to get a vibrant blue, not a dull blue that looks like it was applied over pewter...

Desert Command Jacket.
The trim can be all colors and is fine, but the main part of the jacket as very limited leather colors and come out looking like it just came down a soot filled chemney.
- decorative dress: overly aggressive texture makes the bottom portion look like ugly, ripped fishnet instead of 'decorative'
- nobel skirt:the peach pannels will not allow other colors to adhear properly, thus giving everything a peach hue
The mercenary Bandolier is often too dark to color. Everything looks near-black and the white comes out a dark grey.
I don't see a problem with infiltration suits. The texture there is intentional and the whites still look very white to me.
