Hello everyone! Well I am pleased to announce that at 10:15pm EST on Sunday Dec 7, 2003 I finally made Master Tailor! Me and my friends were very happy and I was so excited at the new stuff I can make. It was a long hard push to master but I got there. Yes I am getting more orders than before..but now I am getting hammered by the armorsmiths and or Architechs to make them Synth Cloth by the create. I don't get it..why are people bombarding me with these Synth Cloth requests more than clothes? My computer takes a while to load my character into the game..While I am waiting for the loading bar to finish..my character is already in game and already reciving /tells..Luckly after 1 min my AFK message kicks in and posts that I might be still loading and to please wait and I will get back to you ASAP. What did i get just now? instead of HI are you busy? I get "yo yo yo yo" then after a min my AFK message goes on and the guy tries again and my message says I am still loading to him and he replies NO YOU COME BACK NOW!!

So when I finally see this I reply with "What do you Want??" Returning his rudness and he of course says "make me synth cloth creates NOW!" and I explained to him that my computer takes awhile to load and he has to be patient while I load and his numskull reply was LOL so you make them for me? and then my reply was well if your going to be that way then I am going to charge you 70k for the symatic and he was like WHAT? LOL and I replied well in that case you are now IGNORED for being RUDE. and I banned him from my shop.

I am NOT A SYNTH CLOTH MAKING SLAVE!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all, "CONGRATULATIONS" on master tailor!!! Welcome to the club

I think the big push for factory cloths, at least from my experince in the past few weeks, is that lots of people are getting those types of grinding professions because their holocron told them to. Believe me, doing runs of almost 8K of synthetic cloths through my factory was a nightmare! Poor thing was tied up forever and has never worked so hard it's life...lol

Thank you..I was kinda of excited when I found that I could make a "Star Fleet" Type uniform (See TNG Movies and DS9). so Now I go around the city looking like I have a star trek fan home made reject star fleet uniform. lol. Lets see I went from black smock as a novice to Reinforced Jacket as a Uniform Marshal to belted jacket to finally a Star Fleet Officer as a master Tailor WEEEEEEEEE!!!

As for those Holo professions..I am not holoing it...Too much time, money and resources were wasted getting me to master. I am going to keep it for as long as business is good. I am not touching BE because I don't have enough skill points to master it(well i could but I would have to surrender a lot of combat skills, which I can't do)

Tailoring is fun and far less risk of dying and decay on me

I usually won't do synth cloths on principle. Let a novice tailor make some money doing it - they have a hard enough time getting business without the armorsmiths of the world demanding that *master* tailors make their synth cloths. WIthout decay or experimentation - a synth cloth is a synth cloth.

Beautiful advice. Most tailors have novice friends. This is a perfect way for lower down tailors to a) make a bit of cash and b) become more known, especially if they are below tier 3 and therefore don't go through synth cloth like mad. And make sure they charge a nice price (i.e. up a bit), as synth cloth prices always seem to be a bit low considering the effort to make them.

Novice tailors can make synthetic cloth, I am only a novice tailor. When I make four billion crates of the junk, I can't sell it AT ALL. Eventually I do, but it takes ten years.

As a master tailor, I don't produce crates for most customers, period. While getting to master tailor, I've had far too many instances of customers requesting a ridiculously high quantity of synthetic cloth, then discovering that, after my factory spends a couple of days RT cranking it out, that they decide they no longer need it. Or, worse yet, somehow believing that it was my job to produce it for them and receiving a variety of threats ranging from "never doing business with me unless I produce crates at cost for them" to "I'm going to tell my entire guild to hunt you unless you give me what I want" when I turned down their business.

I have a select group of customers (I can count them on one hand) for whom I produce such items, because I have solid working relationships with them and because I get similar treatment from them when I need their services. There are numerous novice and expert tailors out there who can use the business - I leave it to them.

Hiya, and congrats!

There was a pretty interesting discussion of this here:

I still think that any synth cloth sold by a master tailor comes under the heading of "charity" more than business.

I would start charging more for your wears. As I have dropped master Tailor, I hada LOT of armorsmith customers. In order to not back up your factory, sell a 1k schematic to them for like 20k or however much you decide on. I sold a ton more schematics when I was a master tailor than crates of materials. Well, it might have to do with the fact that I take into account factory time, materials, gathering materials. People would just assume buy a schematic made with the materials they need and just put it into a factory and save thousands of credits. I had three or four regular schematic customers that would need schematics every week. It was an easy 20k for 4 seconds work.

You were able to sell a schematic for 20k? awesome!!! I *love* hearing that. Personally, the last two armorsmiths that requested schematics from me, demanded them for free. I told them they would not get it for less than 5k, so they walked (I'm sure to find some other tailor to get it for free from). Personally, it's not like I need the 5k, but I just don't want to set a precident that my time is worth nothing, and that I'm the "free schematic guy". I wish more tailors would charge for schematics.

i tell people i dont sell crates of synth

oh yeah last night some dude wanted a necklace and i was in the middle of movin my freakin house. I was unable to repsond to him i was in the middle of a conversation with the mayor (a public conversation this dude could see) and i was in the mode were you are placing something.

So durring all this i think he mesages me 3 times sayin them same thing "what about my necklace, what about my necklace??" so finally i shout outloud in all caps "NOW IS NOT A GOOD TIME TO ASK ME TO MAKE YOU SOMETHING JOE" or whatever his name was.. lol my 3 freinds standing around me informed him i was busy and moving my house (they were helping me cause i was having trouble fitting the large house and they had to move a cloning center for me to fit).

I charge these people like 3's the price IF AND WHEN i actually do make somethin for them. It makes me feel better if i get lots of money from them

Yea, I get people who insist on having things *now* all the time. The ones who try to jump queue when you are making an order can be especially annoying. You are standing there obviously fitting someone for an outfit and they run up saying something like, "I need a TKA dress. U a tailor, right?" I say that I am, but I am currently working on an order for Mr X (or whatever the first customer's name is) and that I will get to his order when I am done. They then usually repeat what they wanted. I try to ignore them and go on to the order I was working on. I might tell the original customer something like "would you like any particular color?" and then the second customer who I am trying to ignore will say something like, "blue" which completely throws me. So then I will start sending /tells to the original customer to end all of the confusion. The second customer will then say something like "are u there? I need a TKA dress". I tell him again that I am in the middle of an order and I will get to him when I am finished, but doing two complicatd orders at once is too confusing, etc. By the end of it I either want to log off and scream.

ok after reading this..thats it, 25k per Schematic!!!!!
Its really annoying me that people are so lazy they can't check the Tailor tree to see what level of tailor you need to make that Synth Cloth... Most people provide the resources I need to make the Synth Cloth others think.."oh boy I just need the Schematic and put it into my factory and voola!" Nope you need the resources that were used for that Schematic for it to work.. Oh well
