Gyopi, that person is fairly easy to handle:

  • First time
Let that person know that there is another person in line in front of them the first time, and that you'll help them as soon as you're done with the current order.

  • Second time - if they are not being rude
Remind them that there is another person in line in front of them, and that they need to be patient.

  • Second time - if they are being rude
Remind them that there is another person in line in front of them, and that they need to be a bit more courteous.

  • Third time - if they are not being rude
Try to get the customer to come back another time - a "tailoring appointment" works for me, a time block in which you can guarantee direct, personal service with that customer. Usually works like a charm. If they won't come back, treat the next response as "Third time - if they are being rude."

  • Third time - if they are being rude
Let the jerk know that, because they couldn't maintain a simple level of courtesy, that youwill notdo business with them. Set them on /ignore, ban them from your store if possible, and continue doing business with your current customer.

I take a dim view of rude, impatient customers. I keep a list of such "banned customers" in my /notepad, and do my best to ensure that they can no longer do business with me or with others in my guild.

Personally, I still carry both synthetic cloth and RFPs. They're a great way to shore up income whilst you wait for your BE to supply more superlicious tissues

All I do for armorsmiths or smaller tailors that want crates is point them to my vendor -- I make a point of ensuring there's a stock of at least 10 (I try to keep it closer to 20) of each on the vendor. I also inform them I give a bulk discount for orders over 10 crates.

Works like a charm -- Get kudos from the armorsmiths for keeping a stock they can pick up and I get the suppliemtary income that warrants a run of 1000 SC/RFP every half week or so.

Hmm I charge highway robbery rates and people still buy it. I supply the resources as well tho. I cant keep in stock at 4.5k per crate either. If it was just a schematic...yeah, I'd sell for 20k at least. I'm a tailor, not a schematic machine, my way or the highway =P

I dont really belong in this forum but I thought i'd check it out anyway. For all the tailors out there making synth cloth, I wouldn't charge anything but highway robbery. Have you seen the profit margin on armor?

Armorsmiths will be more than willing to fork over 20-30k for a schematic of 1k syn cloth. Do not charge anything less. I always told the people it's either 4-5k per crate or 20k for a schematic of 1000. They seem to bend a little on this. Plus being a M.A., I know that armorsmiths make a TON of money. 20k is chump change for any armorsmith, and is well worth the money for not having to use the skill points for Tailor.Plus,a run of 1k syn cloth and 1k reinforced fiber panels will last a while. This is a nice easy way to earn a little income for tailors as well.

20K for the schematic? Nah..all the armorsmiths on my server claim it's for grinding but I know its for actually making a product that they turn around and sell for more. One guy in particular is hammering me with requests to make crates FAST for him on the spot because he needs it badly. Because of these requests, I am extremly short on supplies. When I told them what the price was per crate they got mad...oh well..they can always climb the tailor tree and make it themselves.

Some guy asked me whether I would provide him with synth panels for armor - I hate supplying synth cloth - sometimes I'll give crates to an architect I really like, but only because he makes me furniture and stuff. Not to mention that my fiance is an armorcrafter, and I already supply him with panels (granted, though, he and I pool resources, mine materials together, it's a very different arrangement) and I don't want to supply the competition.

But instead I said, in classic RP fashion "I'm not going to supply the empire the tools to make its armor, because that would be dishonorable to the rebel cause." Haha! Completely ended the interchange right there, and never heard from the armorcrafter again.

Yes, definitely a good idea to pass the synth cloth making to the Novice Tailors. I know as a Novice I made what I considered quite a bit making synth cloth crates for Armorsmiths. 10k was alot of jing when my standard product netted me about 1k each. Unless the request comes from a friend, I always try to point them in the direction of a Novice.

Another reason that I do this is because I like not running harvesters. I run my harvesters (heavies) for about a week (one resource cycle) and have enough to keep me going for the month. So for those remaining three weeks of the month I don't have to run around checking maintenance and power levels and worrying that the cycle will end early, etc. So more than enough to stock me up and keep me going. Selling those valuable crates of synth cloth and reinforced panels take away from that time that I can spend not running harvesters, so I just don't do it. It's what makes being a Tailor livable. I don't know how Architects do it needing so many resources and having to keep their harvesters going constantly. I suppose I could buy resources, but until I need alot at once for some holo-grind it's SO much cheaper to just harvest your own.

As for people harassing you over selling them crates, that's screwed up and thankfully I've never quite experienced that. You're not their servant - you don't HAVE to do anything for them. If they want to pay you well for your time, fine. But if they can't even ask politely instead of demanding, that's what your ignore list is for. I wonder how that rude, demanding armorsmith would react if you sent them a tell and demandeda full set of advanced composite NOW and for FREE....after all it decays and becomes useless. Clothing is forever!!!!!

Another thing i have found is that they don't realize novice tailors can do the synth. I had one guy beg me to help him out, and when i told him i didn't have any extra, and he should check with lower tailors, he was amazed and told me he'd been chasing master tailors for a few days to get some. I just stopped making it to sell, i'll put my stock on my vendor for high prices so i don't have to carry it around (pack is full enough, thank you) and sometimes it sells. If you really don't want to sell any, put them on your vendor for 10-30k and just point.

Unless they are insane, you should not be bothered by them again.

Fiber crates = 2500, Synth cloth = 5000, Reinforced synth cloth 7500 (that is 10cpu) I don't want to use up vast quantities of my large stacks of resources so others can grind, or sell armour for insane profits. Sell the schematic? Sure. 25k for a 1000 run of any of them, as long as they have the components. I'll sell them the components for 4-5cpu as well, just in case my stock gets suddenly depleted and I am left with nothing to sell.

But I usually turn away people that want to just buy the schematic. I'm the tailor, you are not. You want the product, take novice tailor and get the schematic in your datapad, or come to me. I will pay whatever someone wants to charge me for a BE tissue schematic, no question. Those are gold, and everyone knows it. I can make a fantastic profit selling enhanced clothes, and armoursmiths can do the same with our product.

i love synth cloth i had an order for 100 crates of it about 10 min worht of work and 2 days in my factorys ( yea 41 hours ) and i was 300K richer! was nice.

but im not exactly high level so the buissness is welcome . i understand highlevel taliors and the abulity to make alot more money off of clothing that uses 25 synth cloth rather than 3K for a crate.. it worked out nice. made the stuff and gave the guy hopper acces to my factorys. he picked it up from there

As a Master Armorsmith, I go through heavy quantities of Synthcloth, FP's and RFP's. But I have clothing factories of my own, neccessary for armor segments. I made a deal with a Tailor for schematics. I give her the resources I plan on using in the factory, she makes me a 1k run schematic, I do it myself.

She never charged me, probably because I am a "fashion plate" that can't stand to wear the same outfit for very long. Many suits of Composite armor were made to pay for my wardrobe.....

Don't hesitate to make them run the cloth and panels themselves, since they have to have factories for the high tier schematics. It also saves you from sitting on crates ordered but not purchased.

After changing my store sign to master tailor2 days ago (became a master tailor a month ago)I have gotten about 20 requests for synth cloth.

I tell them I would rather give the business to a lower level tailor and that it does not change the quality of the cloth at all whoever makes it.

Of course they think I am lying and just trying to get out of the work.

I wish the devs would just come out and say that masters do not make better synth cloth than novice.

I think I will just start making tons of it though and set up a special vendor to sell it. Then I will overcharge and no one will bother me, or if they do I can just say that is my price, take it or leave it.
