Thread: When you became a master tailor you did what ?

As we have a few master tailors, well i suspect more than a few I wondered what happened after you reached this goal. Its often the case that after reaching a goal like this is a MMORPG rather than a feeling of sucess you left wondering what to do next. In fact some times it seems almost a pity that you have reach a point where you can go no futher.

Its very common for people to switch you other proffesion as a side line I think the combat route is a popular second choice. I have also noted people tend to spend less time playing the game. Also I suspect you dont bother to make the lower items on the tailor market either.

Maybe you have given up on the whole tailor idea. ?

That is not to suggest being a master tailor is all doom and gloom, I am sure their is still a lot of fun left in making high end clothes. I think my only real worry that it is far to easy to become a master tailor ?

But anyway whats your view how did becoming a master tailor effect you, or if your not a master tailor how do you think it might do so ?

I haven't stopped crafting since. I haven't advertised and still most every online moment is dealing with customers or make items. I don't even bother to stock my merchant anymore except for some things like BH packs now that our server has them.

I did get a second account and she's a pistoler/dancer. Quite the change of pace, it's kinda nice. Still tailor daily though.

I make all the master clothes for my PA now. I debated as to setting up a shop. Major endeavor, but I'm ultimately doing it... Don't plan on having displays of everything, maybe nothing. Heck my Vendor can show ya what the clothes look like. I fill it with stuff I think looks good. Ask that peeps email me if they want something diff. Been fillin the bazaar with good sellers and pursuing a little combat.

I suffered severe burn-out by the time I reached Master tailor.

However, I am back into it and filling custom orders just as quickly as I possibly can and restocking my vendors on wednesday and fridays.

It doesn't help when factories don't work correctly. That has added to my workload when it should make things easier.

When I first reached Master I was excited, made myself a Grand Healers Robe only to find I couldn't wear it.

Then I had a party that friday

Did a happy dance...scaring cat, puppy and husband alike, promptly turned on the Master Tailor flag just to see it up there for a bit, turned it back off and started doing more missions to begin saving up for a wearables factory.

after forfeiting all my musician/entertainer skills for tailor, i'm forfeiting range support and misc for stuff like merchant. i've been doing mostly custom orders, since my vendors are terribly empty and would take years to stock =/ i've also been going to parties, and making clothing for going to them

i enjoy taking my kittens out for a walk, and shooting a few critters on my way

WhenI first hit master tailor I'd (stupidly) not started any factory runs of cloth so I had to get that up and running (and consequently bought a second factory to catch up)

I then started making loooooooads of clothes to both put on display in my house and stock up the vendor. Unfortunatly this was the weekend that the vendors ate items so i lost 80% of my stock adding up to a market value of around 200k credits (of which, of course, the CSRs have never got back to me about)

I finally managed to restock the vendor for a second time and opened my shop. Since then Ive been taking lots of custom orders. Im also the only tailor in my guild so I keep the other members well stocked on new clothing as and when they want

A couple of weeks later I decided I too wanted something else to aim for and trained as novice armoursmith. Only to then discover that the bug of having too many schematics was very much still alive and well and had to untrain armoursmith

So im kicking my heels waiting for that bug to be solved so I can work my way up that skill tree and also debating with the idea of becoming bio-engineer and going up the tissue line. However, Id have just enough skill points for master armoursmith, master tailor and the tissue line of BE, so id have to drop merchant (Maybe realistic with the predicted vendor costs anyway)

Although! I keep hearing rumours (not sure entirely where they started) that tailor is going to be one of the professions giving an "elite" add on profession. If thats the case then I guess that would be my new aim!

Kind Regards,

Tally, Master Tailor of Naboo

p.s. and before i forget! I spend a lot of time reorganising the clothing on display in my store completly once a week to try and give variation to the shop. I think people appreciate this

Haven't hit Master yet ... but when I do, I'll be celebrating by opening a much larger store, and organising a Fashion Show.

Did I say 'celebrating'?

Heh ... giving myself an almighty headache by trying to work out how to transfer all the items from my current Medium House to a large one, when I have my workshop already full, and my inventory, and the bank.

Then a week or so of stressing, getting models, organising refreshments, selling tickets, designing outfits, etc.

While trying to keep up with the vendor stock and fend off the foray of tells I get every time I log in .... heh.

Ah well. Should still become a grand Event, though ...

Hit Master.. whooped and hollered like the little redneck living in England that I am <laugh> Think I scared a couple of neighbours. I did a little dance in Doaba Guerfel, exciting a few of the locals, and headed back to Coronet.

Anyway, I already had a factory and a large house by the time I reached master... along with a good customer base. So, I turned on the flag, sent a mass email to the customers that were waiting for me to hit master and waited whilst I made a few displays. Didn't take long for the first customer to arrive.. and I've been swamped ever since. I'm now giving up almost everything to go master merchant as well. Rava and I are going to open a PA Hall as a one stop shopping mall for the folks of Valcyn. But now I have to find a PA Hall as my architect I had it on order from quit. ARRGGHHH! Anyhoo.. I love being a tailor, although it can be a bit much at times. Yesterday, (Labor Day in the US) I had 10+ customers in my shop at once on two seperate occasions. Was pretty wild! Luckily, all of the customers were willing to wait and took turns entertaining each other with music, dance, pet shows, fireworks and more. I have the best customers! One of my friends was making his two baby rancors dance in unison. Was cracking everyone up!

Since I hit master tailor a few weeks ago I am fully enjoying this profession No more grinding, no more "Sorry, can't make that yet ". I so enjoy making fancy clothes for my guildies or advise customers so they leave with a new outfit and a smile on their faces. The factory bug is annoying and I really hope they fix that pronto.

The other time goes into my other toons so I'm definitely not going to be bored soon!
