Wow. That was incredibly interesting. It's nice to catch a glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes sometimes.

interesting !!

so they've changed some fundamental things with certain clothing ranges. Jackets was mentioned, and I assume pants would be another.

That's going to need a lot of testing

I can only imagine that changes of that nature will be rolled out to all players when JTL arrives - which may mean that Ithorian clothing will be craftable by tailors who do not choose to purchase JTL.

So, assuming they're not blowing too much smoke, the fact that they now have generic "templates" (if you will) for jackets, should mean that they can add additional jacket types by simply tweaking the textures and shaders, instead of creating a half-dozen one-off jacket models for each new wearable.

This bodes quite well for increasing the list of tailorables.

Definitely. Though I wonder why they chose to take the path of "one-offs" to begin with. They must have needed to grind out some programming XP to unlock their FS slot.

Hehe I'm still here, waiting for an answer on whether we have to buy JTL to craft any new wearables.

What excites me is that now that they have an easier way to put clothing into the game, maybe we will get new clothing schematicsmore often! One of the main excuses in the past is that it simply takes too much art time to make new clothes.

Well not to put a damper on anybody's enthusiasm, the way I read it is that the new generic templates they created is just so they can rush out clothing for the Ithorians. So those will probably be new schematics for us (YAY!) BUT be Ithorian only clothing (BOO!).
Otherwise an interesting article. Glad to see that they went back and rethought the whole head skeleton to give more life like facial expressions.

Well I'm excited, but then anything positive about clothing makes me excited

I'm hoping I won't need JTL to make the new clothing, flying around in anything other than a transport shuttle doesn't appeal to me. Heh I only leave Naboo when I *really* have to
