I got the new Star Wars DVDs last night and sat down to watch Ep. IV. Ok, here comes the tailor geek, I had to keep pausing it like every couple minutes to go "Hey, that looks like Grey Stripped Pants, light blue casual shirt, uniform boots, and simple vest! I CAN MAKE THAT!"

LOL! Dang it. Now I have to go bug my husband to go buy the DVDs so I can look for what I can make and what I can't, so I can come back and add to the "We want these..." schematics wish list.

A few months ago - actually in my pre-corr days - I broke out my old-school VHS tapes and watched all 3 movies back-to-back, notebook in hand, and recorded all the garments. I got increasingly frustrated by all the big-name items that we can't make (Luke's tunic-y thing that he wears for most of the first 2 movies! I mean, hello!)

Yes i guess that makes me a geek
i was adding to my already popular 'star wars outfits' vendor, which is sets of clothing from the film, sold as complete outfits in backpacks.
There was a thread a while back which discussed the clothes from the film, i got most my current sets from there, and from watching films myself

I have to admit I am guilty of being a tailor geek
There is little that is as uncomfortable than sitting and discussing things pertaining to Star Wars and when somebody says something like, "Yeah, Greedo had a cool uniform." and I reply "I can make that.". Then a hush falls over the non-swg players.
Oh well, at leat nobody has tried to get me into hawtpants yet.

I remember sitting down to watch Attack of the Clones on DVD after the game had been out like almost a year..and I got so excited just being able to recognize the gowns Amidala was wearing, like when she wore the Grand Ball gown with the sheer shawl-like thing I was like "oh..why can't Grand ball gowns in the game have that?" and I also spotted her with the black Luxurious..so yes I guess Im a geek too.

I'd watched the three original Star Wars movies when I was younger, but they never really left an impression on me. I came into SWG not knowing anything about the Star Wars universe, but it's funny what this game does to you. I had the opportunity to re-watch the original movies a few months ago, and I also found myself naming off all the clothing items! I was scaring myself, but it's good to know that I'm not alone.

count me a geek too. I did this a few months ago with the VHS tapes. I think we might need some help.

When I saw the DVD of Attack of the Clones, and it got to the part at the fireplace and Amidala has the Luxurious Gown on, I paused it to check the fabric, and see if it was leather or not, because I'm so sick of the palette.
And to all of us that read that and nod their heads sagely, yes, we are geeks.

Yes, count me in too - I was watching the DVD Wednesday evening, notepad in hand, scribbling furiously!
Who ever thought Tailoring would be such fun? I took up the prof in Sept. 2003, mastered in October 03 - and have no plans at all of giving it up. Making replicas of the movie outfits just adds to what I already enjoy.
