Count me...
I'm a Tailor in SWG, and while I don't watch the movies SOLELY to pick out costumes, every time I see a clip of the movie I can't help but comment on the uniforms.
I have a (male) friend who can't seem to understand why I would play SWG as a tailor/ID, and who used to play a while back (as a Swordsman). I commented on Ackbar's uniform in RotJ, and he gave me a VERY funny look. It wasn't until I took him home and showed him my green version of the suit that he really understood.

I haven't bought the DVD's yet, but I have the trilogy on VHS. Last night I caught myself (while watching ROTJ) and the scenes that Luke was in while confronting Vader and the Emperor I kept having to pause so I could see what kind of belt he was wearing. (I don't think we can make it, but maybe just a small pocket belt will do
)
Here's an idea...I know there is a website out there that lists all the SW outfits and what characters wear them, they even have pic's up for them. Maybe the ones that aren't listed we can put the "recipe" for in this thread.
For instance, I noticed that Han Solo was wearing a light green/darkish green spec ops jacket in the Endor scenes. The others had poncho's of the same print as Solo's. Ooooh, poncho's! I'd love to see those in game!
Ack, I'm really geeking out now. Great thread!

I get the DVD's on saturday and yes I'll look for all the costumes but only after I saw every film in original tone first. I am so happy to hear all their true voices for the first time.
uiiii! /grin and of course I bought the episodes 1 and 2 also since I didn't have them itil now....

LOL I am not alone
My husband was laughing at me as we watched the new dvds. He did actually join in & ask why Obi-wan could wear a belted vest under a cloak & he couldn't
On another note.....Is it me or is it just totally amazing how much detail has made its way into the game?! The clothes, the housing, the furniture....I could go on & on
The original art team did a beautiful job converting everything over. I am in awe of their talent that lies in the details

Well thanks a bunch. Not unwrapped mine, was waiting for this weekend because one of my PA is in the UK, visiting from Australia and I'm taking him to Anfield to see his first Liverpool match tomorrow. All set to have a beer/pizza/SW DVD fest in the evening, but now I'll be watching clothes instead of the story
I hope you're happy!

I too am a tailor geek!
Hubby got the DVD's the day of release and while we watched Ep. 4 I was pointing out all the clothing items I can make. Thin striped pants, check. Simple vest, check. Small pocket belt, check. Rugged jacket, check. Ep. 5...long leather gloves, check.
Thankfully, the hubby plays SWG as well and completely understands!!

I'm a tailor geek and a SW geek. I have the orignal trilogy and the SE trilogy and my roomie just picked up the DVD trilogy (we also have the episode 1 and II DVD's). I've seen the original trilogy over 100 times, and the prequals over 20. Since I've been a tailor I've watched them even more often, and while I don't jot down in a notepad different items, it is fun to recognize things. I also look at the kenner toys to see what outfits the toys were made in. I first did this to check General Madine's rebel officer uniform, since in the movie you never get to see his pants. I found along my search that the toy version of Lando in his general outfit is a recolored version of general madine (uniform wise) which I've since recreated in game. The movie however I have not been able to reproduce. So is the tale of my geekiness.

I just watched the documentary last night about the making of star wars and all the things surrounding it (on the 4th dvd). Stayed up way too late doing it too
Yep, I am definetely a geek!
I did think it was cool to learn more about the whole series and what went into it and get reactions from the crew and cast about it. I also got real excited when I realized Luke was wearing a rugged jacket as he got his medal from Leia. Hmm, it is becoming more obvious why I am single.

I did that a few weeks ago while watching the VHS tapes. So, I guess I'm a geek too. :-)
I really, really think it would be cool if they had holsters and sheaths in the game. Then you could have a /draw command or something, which would be fun for duels. Han Solo's holster is especially cool. *sigh*

Yes, I am a tailor geek. I found myself doing the exact same thing as we were watching the movies. "oooo! That's the ribbed shirt! And I want that hooded cloak! oooo That's a neat tunic, wish we had that." It was rather distracting. LOL

Hehe I've also pulled out pen and paper while watching the original VHS tapes (thoughI one-uppedyou all geek-wisebyalso drawing sketches of the outfits)for two reasons. One was I was doing research for my outfits-only vendor, and the other was I was trying to find really cool things the art team didn't provide for us

When I saw the DVD of Attack of the Clones, and it got to the part at the fireplace and Amidala has the Luxurious Gown on, I paused it to check the fabric, and see if it was leather or not, because I'm so sick of the palette.
And to all of us that read that and nod their heads sagely, yes, we are geeks.
I SO nodded my head sagely ![]()
