Thread: 0 Condition clothes Not working anymore afeter the next publish?
IMHO 0 Condition clothes should not work at all, doesn't make sense. By making it such that they don't work it would help Tailors and Artisans. After all then folks would buy the Artisan Clothing Repair tools, like they do the Armor and Weapon ones now
.
Gyopi in real life I still wear clothes I bought 5 years ago, and shoes that long to. I think that perhaps combat decay would be fine similar to what we see in armor, but I would not want to see just a wear decay. I do pretty good as a tailor right now. I've found that the entertainers are the repeat customers mostly, though the combat types ( especially Jedi and TKM ) also come in if they have new tapes and such, or just got bored with how they looked ( happens more with the female players than the male players. ).
I think its really hard to compare real life clothes to ones in the game though. Time is pretty compressed in-game. I personally feel like my characters have spent several lifetimes playing at this point. But no matter what kind of decay is in the game (right now it is only decay on death) it can't be too fast or else no one would bother buying clothes anymore. The most important thing is that decay should mean something, though. Clothes that decay to 0 but are just as good as new doesn't make any sense.

What about 0 condition items that are classed as clothing and no longer drop?

guys, why not campaign for the ability to break down clothes or unslice clothes to retrieve the ca's? It would be a great money maker with very little overhead. Which means great profits for you. That service would be invaluable since the ca's are getting harder to find in good qualities. I know i would pay a good amount to get some plus 25 ca's back. that way you get what you wished for and more. You get ca's back, and then sell a new set of clothes with the ca's already installed. a win, win situation.Message Edited by KRAKEN666 on 10-03-2005 11:48 AM
No thanks, I don't want to keep getting pested by the glow-stick brigade everytime they want a CA removing from clothing.
