Thread: Help me with my pricing PLEASE
apparently, i am sellign my stuff tooo cheap. can tailors who arent masters tell me how much they sell:
different backpacks
spec-ops dusters
desert command jacket
heavy reinforced jacket
i have just field wear 3. this meant my items arent comprable to any masters. So i cant just check niveas prices, or something like that. i don wanna make any enimies here. so help me out before everyone **edit**ing hates me
check the bazaar to see what comparable items are selling for...
it's really hard to get advice from others on this because all these items are getting more common the longer the game is running and so the prices will drop because of lack of demand...
you can probably sell dusters and such for 3k on the bazaar -- but if nobody buys them lower your prices! ![]()
I'd check the bazaar also... though if you're in an underserved area (like Rori) that doesn't help much. This is what I charge for those things:
Military Packs 1000
Tech Packs 1500
Bounty Hunter Packs 2000
Special Ops Packs 3000
Special Ops Dusters 3000
Heavy Reinforced Jackets 2500
Desert Command Jackets 2500
My prices are similar ....
Military Packs 1000
Tech Packs 1500
Bounty Hunter Packs 2000
Special Ops Packs 2500
Special Ops Dusters 2500
Gunmans Duster 3000
Heavy Reinforced Jackets 2000
Desert Command Jackets 2000
This is the way my prices are structured. It works well, because the customer can figure out how much his order is going to be.
Novice Tailor Clothing - 1000
Tier 1 Clothing- 1000 credits
Tier 2 Clothing - 2000 credits
Tier 3 Clothing - 3000 Credits
Tier 4 Clothing - 4000 Credits
Lets try this again...
This is how I price my clothing. May not work for you, but it keeps it simple and the customer always knows what to expect.
Novice Artisan Clothing100 credits
Domestic Arts 1Clothing200 credits
Domestic Arts 2Clothing300 credits
Domestic Arts 3Clothing400 credits
Domestic Arts 4Clothing500 credits
Novice Tailor Clothing750 credits
Tailor (Tier I)Clothing1000 credits
Tailor (Tier II) Clothing2000 credits
Tailor (Tier III) Clothing3000 credits
Tailor (Tier IV) Clothing4000 credits
Master Tailor Clothing5000 credits
I am really shocked by the pricing I am seeing so far. With the current status of clothing not decaying we have to increase our prices to make up for the lost sales in repair/replacement.Secondly the pricing of clothes also depends on the skills of the person making it. Master Tailors create more sockets and have better colors then other tailors.
Currently I charge 10k for master tailor items and I haven't heard any complaints about the price. I also offer free delivery and in person makeovers.
I also would like to say a big Thank you to all the tailors out there who helped me with thier friendship and words over the past couple months.

My pricing is dependent on local market conditions, but as a rough guide, theygo something like this:
Novice/Tier 1: 500
Tier 2: 1000
Tier 3: 5000
Tier 4: 10,000
Master: 15,000 (not there yet, so I'm projecting).
That's quick and dirty base price, with extra tacked on for BE bonuses, max sockets, or specific material requirements (wooly hide, thoranium steel, etc).
Using the "one credit=1 penny" analogy I posted in another thread, that's $150 for the top of the line stuff... not bad for a designer original.
Check to see what's NOT on there that you can make. I've gone to some cities where there are no packs/gloves/boots for sale. Anytime I fill that space, the stuff sells. Now I know you're looking for specifics on prices. Try what you think it's worth, or see what others are doing. If your items sell quick, raise the price a bit. If they don't sell, try relisting for less. Or you can just try a different city altogether.
While not clothing, you'd be surprised how many fishing poles and music instruments I've sold simply b/c they were the only ones for sale
i use the nice little price calculator that someone posted on the tailor forums a while back
i end up with 100 credits for bangles, and 3.2k for infiltration suits. then i change the prices around a bit in the middle, depending on how well they sell =)
I use Nivea's Pricing Guide with a little adjusting for local market prices on *some* items.

There's the link to the thread discussing pros and cons of it.
But I like it. I don't have to whip out a calculator and keep a ton of notes.
By the way, thanks Nivea. ![]()

so fo the ones you ask on:
Military Travel Pack = 500
Spec-Ops Pack = 2200
Tech Pack = 850
Travel Pack = 450
Bounty Hunter Pack = ??? (over 2k, dont have the right resource)
spec-ops dusters = 3000
desert command jacket = 2200
heavy reinforced jacket = 2200
back to my price list:- please ignore the bolded items as being the ones i can make, ive picked up quite a few more skill levels since i made this spreadsheet. Ive also adjusted a couple prices a little from this point as well (especially patterened wookiee gloves in comparison to plain paddded wook gloves, seems silly that the patterened ones were cheaper than the plain ones no-one wanted, so i upped them to 1k and downed plain padded to 900) and a few other things based on demand etc...
I derived these prices by usinng the spreadsheet basing them on resource cost and then added a base cost per tier of skill level on top of that.
-50 dom arts
0 novice
+100 tier I
+500 tier II
+1000 tier III
+2000 tier IV
+4000 master
and then i rounded up and down arbitrarily to modify for demand and a range of other things.
Im not yet master, i may round up my master prices somewhat when i get there based on demand and market rate for my server (valcyn)
