so far ive been doing pretty good with selling everything at 6cr per unit

for the most part that gives me double what i've got into it

granted its a slower way to make money but i dont have any complaints when people ask me how much to make them something and usually they actually give me more then im asking.

I dont use the by Tier pricing myself, simply because items in the same box often use vastly different materials or amount of factory materials.

No one here can tell me they charge 4K c for a pair of heavy gloves, if you have, you NEED to give me the name of that sucker.

I started out by figuring out what resources cost me, and what factory time cost me, to determine a per resource and per component price. Then I multiplied that by a reasonable profit margin. That gives me a base price that I know gives me a profit I can live (and thrive) on. This gets tweaked up or down if my costs change, of course (polymer disappeared for awhile, which meant I was buying it on the bazaar).

Then I add on a small factor for the "level" of the item.

Then certain item prices are tweaked upwards based on how popular they are, whether they require difficult to acquire ingredients, and how much I like the look personally.

Seems to work--I've paid full price for all my training, and still manage to run a small shop, med chem harvester, solar power generator, and factory, and have enough left over to splurge on droids, pets, and tickets to Tatooine...

I'd strongly suggest downloading that cool pricing spreadsheet, or making your own to keep track of it all...
