I have read many posts, and laot of things have been covered like mobs dropping our best stuff, no other crafters have this problem.

People not havinga great need for ourstuff especially since most o fit cant be equipped with armor.

Thier is no good way to grind it out, not that i have found, not compared to other classes, our numbers are high, and its harder to sell, and just so many other problems, im sure its all been said here.

But i ahve some questions.

Does anyone have an effective way to grind out tailor?

All i ahve thus far is ribbed shirts, ribbed shirts ribbed shirts.

anyone have any better ideas? specifically for grinding out casual?

After this patch, i find its so hard to get resources, anyone have any good tips on keeping their resources high for tailoring?

Lastly, is thier user XP? i saw my tailoring go up a couple points today i just happened to be looking at my skill tree.

So it went up for seeminlgy no reason, so im guessing its user XP, does anyone know exactley how this works?

im jsut very daunted with this class now, because so many people wer ahead of me as is, and now with resources so hard to get, the little guy who cant grind gets crushed yet once again,

so just looking for some tips and i guess words of encouragement.

Thanks

Don't worry, you're not the only 'little guy' caught up in the grind. I actually think there aren't all that many very high level tailors around just yet anyway. It's just that those who do reach the top first tend to leave us thinking we'll never get there. But we will, and all will even out in the end!

I've been using ribbed shirts myself, and haven't heard of any other method. Sorry I can't be of more help.

If anyone needs a ribbed shirt on Scylla, I will have made enough for everyone by the time I reach master. The new changes will slow me down somewhat, but its more a case of how long it takes to gather 200,000 units than to actually build the shirts.

As you level up you get better xp/resource items/items that give out higher xp, so you dont have to grind ribbed shirts forever. Do the calculations yourself if youd like.

So tell me - what item gives more than 140xp each, requires only two types of component, both of which are basic resources, and I can make dozens of in 10 minutes?

Actually I prefer items on the top and bottoms of my list so that I can easily get to them and do it fast, most of the time they have components. I did Casual Shirts to Field Wear I, Tech Packs(about4k xp every 10 minutes or so)to Field Wear II, Ammo Bandoliers(10kxp or so every25 or so minutes)to III, havent figured out what Im going to do for IV. Anyways I got it down to where I could make components fast(I did them mixed up) and then pump out the actual items fast. Gave quick xp for better resource uses(between Field Wear I and II I used probably 15k resources and II to III I used about 20k resources)

I cant stand making all those fiddly bits when Im in a hurry. For each cargo pocket, I could make a shirt instead. Packs and bandoliers require an extra step, and cant be made while Im out of town. I like to split my grind up, so I do 10 while im recovering from an incap while on a mission, 10 when I stop to check my harvesters, and so on. I do spend more of each playing session playing than grinding.

I haven’t actually started the tailor grind yet… right now I’m recovering from the grind to get to tailor.

But from my time in beta I remember that Ribbed Shirts are definitely the best to grind for a long time. If you’re up to Casual 3 and have lots of hides (start stacking them up as soon as possible… you really can’t have too many of them) them making cloaks is a better grind. And those are far more wanted too. Just make them in basic black and throw them up on the bazaar for a few thousand credits each.

I’m not certain about the other branches as I never got anything other than Casual 4 during beta.

As of where I am now, it looks like ribbed shirts are the quickest way to do it, unfortunately.

Surprisingly, though, sitting in a cantina and taking order after order raises your skill pretty quickly. An afternoon of making people happy and earning a little money on the side can easily give you 15,000-20,000 experience. It really does seem to move more quickly if you turn your experience monitor off. Ribbed shirts are faster, of course, but they just aren't fun to do.

Im sure that works in the afternoon, Im on in the middle of the night for most americans. I will happily stop grinding and take orders instead, but when all the people are gone, ribbed shirts come back.

I really haven't grinded much at all, and I'm doing pretty well, I think. Got a large customer base, and have been making money and advancing at a reasonable rate since around Domestic Arts II or III. Just trying to give people cool outfits and making stuff I figure people want to buy has done the trick so far.

Alciril, hon... perhaps that's because you're Field 3, Formal 4 and Tailor 2. As a novice tailor on Corellia sitting in the Cantina I didn't sell a single thing (unlike during beta where at times I felt like the most popular person in the cantina). People just didn't want what I could offer, or already had it from another novice tailor.

I find that really sad, because that's all I really want to do. Sit in a certain place and make clothes for people, making them happy. But right now I can't offer anything they want and I have to grind to get there. And I hate grinding. I absolutely hate it, but i don't see another way to get to a point in the game where I can do what I love to do most.

You're the lucky one and I envy you for that... though I'm fairly certain it took a lot of grinding on your part to get to where you are as well. If not, then please share your secrets because I'm tired of grinding.

I do sell things on the bazaar now and again, and I have my friends wear my things as well. So that helps a little. And i've relocated to see if i can find a place for my business somewhere else. it'll take a bit of time to set up though.

Wish me luck... I'll make Master Tailor yet.

what's the point in grinding to master tailor you guys? then yer at the peek of your game....and you might get super bored.

I like making outfits, tossin em into a travel pack, and selling the thing as a package deal. It sure more fun than ribbed shirts.

peple like smocks too.
