Tailor

Necklaces have been bugged since release. A tailor cannot view the necklace in the crafting window, which makes colorization complete guesswork. Necklaces do not show up in the examine window which makes it impossible to sell necklaces on vendors, because the customer is forced to "buy blind". In response to our December top 5, the devs wrote: "We hate that bug. We hates it alot. We are working hard to make it die.." However, this bug has not been fixed. The Tailoring Community wants to know what steps have been taken to correct this problem, what additional progress still needs to be made, and when the bug fix will be patched in.

The invisible necklaces are something that the art and programming folks are looking at. It is a strange bug in a complex 3-D rendering system and while it has been around a long time, it should be fixed in the next couple of publishes. I know it’s a huge Tailor pet peeve and makes selling necklaces a hassle. Ood_Bnar is working on it as fast as he can.

Note: Since the correspondents and I first started assembling these answers, Ood_Bnar and the lead programmer have made additional schedule arrangements to get a fix in for this soon.

I want to get excited over this... I really do! But we've heard this before and have been let down so many times. I'm glad that we received another official response to the necklace bug, but I'll be happy once the fix goes in and not before.

I wanted to post about it but kept getting an HTML error so gave up

My comments? It's taking them a very long time to fix a 3D issue...

The answer that was given to the question was what I expected. We already know what the problem is, and that's it's being looked into. No real clear indication of when? Of course we know sometime...lol...it's the kind of a thing that has been put off for awhile, and appears to continue that way *sigh*

I guess this can give us some hope. *sigh* I guess we'll see it when we see it.

The idea that they're changing things to spend more time on trying to fix this at least brings some hope. Just as long as it doesn't end upa stealth fix, I think we'd probably have a forum party if they announced they'd found and fixed the bug.

This answer was no better than the last "we hates this bug" one. I wish just once TH would come flat out and say it: I don't know. I have no idea and noone will tell me anything. Stop making excuses and brushing us off!

Dont wanna sound funny as i am pleased for any bug fix, and any good news, i really am, but the red and yellow
highlights just strike me as odd, why so long? Id be very interested to know what other things the devs have, as im sure they have some kind of priority system and i doubt they work on this one fix from now till a few publish times (god i hope not anyway)

Well, this basically doesn't tell us anything really. Overall, SWG developers are giving more attention to thecombat classes vs. us crafters. No wonder they have to offer FilePlanet subscribers free 14-day trial subscriptions... They need player base since they are loosing it. Sad... so very sad for us crafters that have been here since the launch of game.

Yay, next couple of publishes could mean, anywhere from 3-6 months away, oh well, at least it is getting fixed.

...end snip.

Translation:

With a 3-D rendering system as complex and detailed as ours, it's strange that the locationof the necklace models were incapable of being centered on a 3D plane, within the view window. Sorry we've allowed this to continue since launch but we get side tracked and sometimes forget. We'll get to it soon....promise. As a matter of fact, it's getting pretty annoying hearing about it. Due to this, we've got someone working to fix it ASAP (we'll keep the couple of publishes for cushion though...in case we get side tracked again).

Edit: I will be extremely excited to see this demon put to rest!!
