I have a few questions for Master Tailors. Please answer with correct spelling. Thanks!

1. How long did it take you to master tailor? Starting from Novice Artisan to Master Tailor.

2. Is Master Tailor fun? I enjoy creating stuff, I wont mind the hard work, and is the customization of clothing good, or is it like "Red shirt" and thats it.

3. What would you say the 'average' pay of a Master Tailor per day is. You can also group it down into your time of playing. EX: 3K every two hours? More? Less?

4. Is the resources for one outfit high? Such as fancy pants, fancy shirt, necklace, shoes, and maybe a braclet for good measure about 20K in resources? If so how many Heavy harvesters would I need?

And that is all! Thanks for taking the time to read this. And about question 1: Could you also include your time of play per day? THANKS! P.S. Im asking this because im trying very hard to make it to Novice Tailor, but i run out of resources...and just checking to see if its worth it.

Ugh, we just *love* answering this question, lol. Grind-a-holics can get a master tailor tag in a weekend, but to "master" the profession takes a little longer, lol.

As far as the other stuff. I think it's fun, most people here feel the same. Earning credits tailoring is fine. Honestly tailors probably earn less than many other professions, but I think you'll find most master tailors who have been around a while have way more money then they can ever spend in-game.

As far as resources go, let me answer your question another way. The need for tailors to harvest is probably less then any other crafting profession. If you don't like to harvest, don't, you can literally buy everything you need on the bazar. If you want to save some money or enjoy harvesting, a couple of chemical harvesters and a mineral harvester (whatever size you feel you need based on how prolific you are) should more than meet your needs.

I'm not a Holo-grinder. I couldnt care less about becoming a Jedi. I have seen way too many people kill Jedi's killed to actually think its worth it. Ok, so Ill get some mineral harvesters, and chemical harvesters. Thanks!

Master tailor is INCREDIBLY fun...the customization of clothes is limited until master tailor. and there are different shades of colors...you'll see

1. Novice to Master took me at least a month, perhaps as long as five weeks. I was just starting out, ran delivery missions to pay for resources and so on at first, and was doing more orders than grinding.

2. Master Tailor is a lot of fun. I love the customisation aspect, which is what had me deciding that it was definitely the crafting profession for me; Iove the huge array of colours to choose from, and putting together different outfits from the various designs, mixing and matching. Oh, it has its downsides -- but what profession doesn't? And Tailor has less than a lot of others I can think of. *g* Lucky us!

3. The average pay? That's really difficult for me to say. There are good days and bad days, and I supplement my custom orders and vendors with regular output to the bazaar -- it's great free advertising. An average day's income could be anything between 20-30k... or all the way up to 100 or more. It really varies widely, and that's not taking into account the fees for vendors, house, harvesters, factory, the cost of power, etc.

4. Compared to something like weaponsmith, the resource cost isn't huge -- but you'll be lost without at least two small harvesters for your chemicals. I churn through tremendous quantities of fibreplast alone, and currently have one medium and one small sitting on a good vein of it. Would you need heavy harvesters? Not necessarily, but one might help, I'd think.

...oh, I should add that I am a very casual player -- I don't have anything resembling regular or unlimited hours online. *g* So that is certainly part of why it took me so long to hit Master; in the beginning, I was averaging maybe an hour's playtime per day.

It's worth it, Sunshina, even if the Devs don't particularly like us...

I recommend 1 mineral, 1 solar and 2 chemical extractors. 1 on a poly, 1 on a fiber and the mineral on an ore, or metal that you are in need of. I.e, iron or copper or crystaline gemstone.

When you need money, run missions, it's a great way to raise funds and a wonderful way to break away from the monotony of crafting sometimes.

Just persevere.

1.four weeks.. but doing alot of other stuff meanwhile.. i am not the power grinder.. and i did start my business almost directly with novice tailor having set up a vendor and selling the stuff i could already make step by step

2. its great fun.. either decorating your store, filling your vendors with interesting variations of clothes, or designing some stuff for yourself or customers.. and many customers say "you're the master, make me something that looks cool" and leave the very choices up to you

3. well, depending what you sell and where.. sometimesyou get big orders (f.ex. uniforms for a whole guild, 70 complete sets), or nobody gets anything from you.. keep your vendor(s) stocked and sell some selected stuff on bazaars

4. actually the maximum number of ressource units you need for an item is the Revealing Fleshwrap, counting 420 units of different kinds.. as there are only a few things that need very specific ressources, you don't need to get much..

as to your lots, i would advise (if acting alone):Large House (6 lots) - you need room to show what you got.. people like to look at something before they buy it // 1 Clothing Factory - youneed tohave one for crates // 1 Personal Mineral Harvester (BER4) is enough for Minerals// 2 Chemical Extractors for Polymer & Fiberplast - the energy for 'em you can buy, you will have to buy different kinds of Hide anyway

I began the game in the first few days of release as a novice artisan. I got my Master Tailor title sometime in September I think. So maybe 3 months. I played pretty consistently too, but I didn't want to get to master as fast as possible. I was just enjoying different aspects of the game. I was Master Tailor in beta, so didn't really feel the push to get there with any speed. Right now, I have been a master tailor for something like 4 months, and I do not feel like I have fully mastered it yet. I still learn new things everyday.

2. Is Master Tailor fun? I enjoy creating stuff, I wont mind the hard work, and is the customization of clothing good, or is it like "Red shirt" and thats it.

Oh God yes! The best time I have is letting customers know what colours best fit an outfit, or trying to match something they already have. Right now I am in a "spring collection" mode and with the new lines coming out soon, I am sort of doing the same in-game. (I've never been a winter person)

3. What would you say the 'average' pay of a Master Tailor per day is. You can also group it down into your time of playing. EX: 3K every two hours? More? Less?

You are asking for a broad category to be defined. Vendors in a good location with lots of traffic, and good advertising will do tremendous things for your business. But I don't use vendors. I work on single customers when I am at starports or cantinas. I tend to only do Enhanced clothes, and in 2 minutes, I can make 1 million credits, but then go for 2 days making nothing.

4. Is the resources for one outfit high? Such as fancy pants, fancy shirt, necklace, shoes, and maybe a braclet for good measure about 20K in resources? If so how many Heavy harvesters would I need?

Oh, resources are the best part of tailoring. The most you will use is the infiltrator suits that use 300 polymer resources and some other components. Tailoring items don't take much, and therefore we don't charge much for them. If you have 100k of fiber and 100k of polymer, you are pretty much set for life. A bit of the other components like steel, copper and gemstones are good to have in about a 5-10k stack. Hides you will need too. Maybe 10-15k of them for a good long time. Be sure to have Wooly, Scaley and Bristley hide so you can do some special items.
