Thread: Elite-elite Tailor and missing colors

Since the announcement of the elite-elite Architect "Urban Planner" class, I've been thinking... Could it be that the missing colors, and maybe more schematics, are being held back for an elite-elite tailor profession? Has anyone heard anything to this effect? Any thoughts?

Makes sense.

I actually hope that this is so - I'll give up my other skills in a heartbeat to get missing colors and new schematics!

I hope if they do this they hand out more skill points (even if those points can only be used in an elite-elite profession). Because making us give up all our other skills to go into a super elite class would kind of defeat the purpose of the great character customizability of this game. I think it's great that I can be a tailor and have some combat and entertainer skills, if I had to give these skills up to get further into tailoring I'd be disappointed.

They've made such a big deal about how characters can have two or three different professions instead of being locked into a single class. So if they put the best future Tailoring features in an entirely seperate skill tree but didn't give us enough points to reach it, that would be forcing anyone who didn't want to just be a "dabbler" into becoming really class specific and surrendering the other skills that make us all well rounded characters. I just don't think it would be very fun if every elite-elite talior (or any other class) had to be exactly the same because we didn't have enough leftover points to be entertainers, brawlers, scouts, or whatever else.

From what I gatherfrom Q's post concerning Player cities, I don't think we will be seeing any additional skill points. Those Elite-Elite skill points we were hoping for, from what I understand, aren't going to exist. Could be wrong, but I doubt it.

I don't think they should release more Skill Points. I've read tons of posts from people complaining that it will kill the multiclass aspect of this game. Well that's just bull.

I'd like to see the numbers as to how many Artistans there are. Then how many Tailors there are. The higher up the tier you go the less people of that profession is my guess. So if you add another tier, The Elite-Elite (what a crappy name), only a few people will master it. Which means those few people can charge an arm and a leg for their services. Sounds fair to me.

Yes the Master Elite-Elite won't have the points to also be a Master Medic or a Master Scout. But if you want to be the best of the best in your field (Tailoring) then it doesn't make since that you'd also be best of the best in say Scouting.

I just don't see how this would hurt the game? Can somebody explain to me how this would hurt us?

Sorry about the large font. That's not what I told it to be. They need to add an edit button.

Can anyone dig up a link to where they are posting all this information on elite-elites? Was curious on what new professions will be made available, thanks.

I sure hope not. The whole character customization/able to do more than one thing with a character is the only reason I'm putting up with this SCS crap. If they really wanted to give us a class based system they should have done so from the start. Plus the eagerness ofa coupleof the posters in this thread sets gives a bad impression, that people would be willing to get new content as 'elite-elite' professions instead of the fleshing out of existing ones.

At the very least, if they add an Elite-Elite tailor profession, they should rename the 'Master Tailor' title to 'Half-assed Tailor', as that's all you could be if you want to do anything other than make clothes.

I'd probably be more open to this 'elite-elite' stuff if we had more character slots.

I really hope they don't. I've already had to completely gut and give up any other aspect of my character to become a Master Tailor/Merchant/Artisan. Anything else and I'll have to drop my remaining Doctor Skills as well. I'm sorry, but being a CH/BH/Commando/Pistoler might be overpowering, but there's *NOTHING* overpowering about a Tailor, Artisan, minor merchant and Doctor, yet I'm prevented from being that. If they add more skills I'll be even more of a one trick pony, and that's exceedingly boring.

I'd probably go for Elite Tailor if they add it, but you're right, I'll charge people their souls for my items, since I'm prevented from experiencing ANYTHING else from the ENTIRE game by being such a focused tailor with lack of skill points. People don't understand how much it takes.

If they want to put in new, unique contentfor tailors, and make some of them get different colors and schematics, they should do it in a format that doesn't take away the rest of our skill points, such as giving out schematics and colors for completing quests and things like that. That way we can each become unique and have a different selection of styles, still keep our support skills (I refuse to give up my pistol levels!), and get an excuse to adventure around.

There could be some quests for various types of skills, we could have to find some hermit in a remote, dangerous area that scouts and marksmen (or people escorted by them) could reach, go to a certain place and perform for someone, hunt down some thieves that stole a fashion designer's latest schematic, or do a few survey missions on various planets. Of course those types of quests would have to be limited to Tailors so that just anyone couldn't do them and learn cool new styles!

I just thought of an 'Elite-elite' profession they could add on top of the tailoring tree that would give the people who want more specialization what they want but wouldn't cheapen the tailor profession: Jeweler. It would make sense since tailors canonly make a few pieces of jewelry. Let Jewelers make stat-enhancing jewelry, hell let them make skill enhancers(or combine/enhance existingones)themselves that people can put in their clothes/armor, just don't put new clothing and colors in a new 'profession'.

I want the remaining 55 colors on Master Tailor, not get thru another skilltree to get them. If there's supposed to be an elite2 tailor tree, then please ONLY schematics.
