Thread: Tailoring Technical Bug Issues:
This thread is to report and catalog any TECHNICAL bugs that have arisen regarding tailoring. This should not include such things that effect game balance or are hopes for added features (like the removal of durability or the want of more schematics). There will be a different thread for those.
Here is a current list of Major Technical Issues that still need to be addressed (#1 being highest priority):
1) Tailoring and Armor Smithing. There is an error when you interact with a public or private crafting station and you have mastered tailoring and have at least Novice Armor Smithing. The tool will report an error that no schematics exist. The Tool functions fine if away from the influence of a craft station.
2) Necklaces only are visible while either dropped on the ground or worn. This makes it impossible to craft or choose a style while within the game.
3) Miss-Assignment of Colors. Certain schematics do not assign colors correctly to items allowing for the majority of the item to remain unaffected by the customization. Schematics include:
Pocketed Shorts
Desert Crawlers
Sigiled Waist Wrap
Dress Jacket
Thin Pleated Skirt
Simple Waist Wrap
4) Clothing Not Equipping with Backpacks. Certain articles of clothing other than bandolier will not equip with a Backpack on. This includes:
Grand Healers Robe
Grand Ball Gown
Luxurious Gown
5) Clothing Color Pallet Displaying White as only option for color 1 or 2 depending. This Includes:
Fighter Flight Suit
Heavy Flight Suit
Trader Flight Suit
Transport Flight Suit
Luxurious Gown
Pleated Dress
Light Bustier
6) Certain Items are erroneously placed on the sort, lumped into a 'miscellaneous’ category instead of having their own. This includes:
Long Gloves of all Types
Skirts of all Types
Gunman's Duster is not a Robe
Smocks are Not a Dress
Exotic Leotard is Not a Dress
7) Skin Wrap / Exotic Leotard + Immense Gemstone Necklace = Hole in the chest. When wearing these items in combination the space between the shoulders becomes invisible except for the front chest area.
Please add to this if you come across more!
*hugs*
I don't know if it is my graphics card / driver or what (and others comment on it too so must be common) ... but some of the textures now have a white blotch that wasnt there before and it stays no matter what.
The specific articles of clothing are the revelaing bikini (white blotch on one of the cups) and the Twilek Noble Crest which has the what cap that pops out of nowhere when it is worn.
#2 - Necklaces aren't "impossible" to craft, they are just difficult. The finished item still comes out with the colors you select, but you have to know from experience what the item will look like. Still, (since I'm not an armorsmith) this is the second most annoying bug I've encountered with clothing.
#3 - Include the Luxurious Gown in this... presumably you are supposed to have a 'Leather' palette for the corset/gloves and a "Cloth" palette for the skirt/scarf. Instead, the 'Leather' palette changes the the skirt/scarf (miss-assignment of colors) and the "Cloth" palette is blank (all-white). This, to me, is the most annoying tailoring bug, since I really like that gown.
#4 - Again with the Luxurious Gown... I see the no-backpack thing as intentional, not a bug.
·Jackets on females – Issue: Almost without exception the jackets (and armor) look huge and baggy on females, especially in the shoulder area, even the awesome duster (Kwee doesn’t wear jackets, they make her look like a football player); Solution: Could females have their own smaller, slimmer version of jackets and armor?
·Belts - Float in the air around the waist like hula hoops (especially on females); Hit females just below the waist; Go in and out of wookiee waist wraps and dusters (packs also sink into wookiees); Don’t scale under jackets; Two-pocket and multipocket belts are the worst offenders as far as not fitting right while the workman’s belt is the closest to a good fit.
·Necklaces – They float in the air around the neck area
·Pullover – Graphic bugs over the buttocks area allow pants material to show through
·Decorative dress – Bust area scales way too big while sash suggests a corseted effect
·Long Gloves – Can be worn with a vest but not a jacket
·Infiltrator’s suit – Cannot wear anything over it
·Bandolier, shoulder strap, sash – Cannot be worn w/ backpack
·Cargo pocket – The tailor-crafted version doesn’t hold anything; there is alooted"cargo pocket" thatholds 20/25 items.
·Crested neckpiece – Bottom two sections sink into your chest so unviewable
·Dress shoes – Cannot be made any color but black
Vandessa.. please add this to the list of top priorities!
I used to be able to put the bio engineered cloth into camos and other pants and the wookie should pad. Somehow it got nerfed and I have no clue if this was intentional or not but please let them know it needs to be fixed since the bio enhancements are now going to be working.
thanks
Bio enhancements have never worked at all, so how they could be nerfed is beyond me. But those issues are being handled in the Bio Engineer forums. The new fixes haven't even made it to the test server more or less the live server. Before I start pointing out bugs with them I want to see how these new fixes behave once they come out. Which should be soon.

The atual enhancements may not have worked but I used to be able to add the skills to the pants and the wookie shoulder pad. Now when I try and add the stats it doesn't take. Lets not confuse the issues...
I sold a ton of these pants with the enhancements that were not working but now I cannot add the enhancements at all to the pants and shoulder pads. Did that help?

Yes and no, it still doesn't seem to be a severe issue to mention since the entire architecture of the BE and Tailor enhancement applications is about to be redone and pushed out in probably a week or so (or sooner). When that happens a Master BE and I plan to hunker down on test and run through every possible combination and ability modifier and see what works and what doesn't at that time. Thats why I didn't mention any BE related issues at all in this post since we already know that a major redesign is about to be pushed out anhyhow.
I already know what combinations you can add certain enhancements to and so on, this is old hat to me
so that would be redundant of you to do this. I knewthe actual enhancements were not working but I wanted to know for the future what items it could have enhancements and which items couldn't so I did alot of experimenting and had a good time with it along with my bio-engineer.
It's good to test it once it goes live but I'll be getting my own feedback from my customers and PA members on my server. If you want to communicate with me about my results that would be great, no need to doubleYOUR work load if you don't have to.
I have made a ton of these items and I used to be able to add it to camos, reinforcedpants, wookie shoulder pads soit may not seem important to YOU personally... but you should know that it is important to some of us tailors who do HUGE volumes of buisness every day in SWG. Just because YOU personally don't think it should be addressed doesn't mean it's less important. *hugs*
And actually my question was answered in the post anyways so don't bother adding it to the list as it's already been addressed.

But Bio Engineering, when it comes to tailoring, is very important to me and I follow their forums very closely.
I've done all the combination tests myself and performed many tests to ascertain that it currently doesn't work and shouldn't even be bothered with till they push out what they believe will be a working version of the skill set.
That’s all I'm saying. And I'm glad you found the answer you were looking for. Bio Engineers have been getting a lot of Dev attention this past couple of weeks; I think its best to leave their aspects to their forums for now. We have enough on our plates as it is
With the knowledge that they are taking care of it over there, I don't want to duplicate the issues over here.
I agree 100% on what Akaara has said.
I am still adding them to items now, but only shirts and the swoop helm, the medic ones sell very well on Muscle shirts and Swoop helms, the others go well on Formfitting/reinforced work & Lined shirts, but the Camo pants were great sellers.
This is a bug for us, yes I did read on the BE board about there update patch but this is still a bug right now and should be fixed.
Cannot be created with sockets regardless of skill level:
High Quality Boots
Light Bustier
I believe there was one other, but I don't recall off the top of my head.
Two-Strap Bandolier is scaled incredibly wrong. It actually appears outside the arms unless a large weapon (rifle/carbine) is equipped (the palette is also terrible but not as big an issue as the scaling)
Tech Packs bind incorrectly to the player model and actually stretch and change shape when the player moves
Also, don't know if you'd want to add this as a technical issue, but gender/race restrictions aren't clearly labelled, and some unisex items have descriptions implying they are female only.
Is the tech pack still bugged on live? On test server this issue has been fixed for some time now...like weeks.
