So, I look at the schematics. O M G I scream in guildchat. Bell bottoms. Not JUST bell bottoms, but with really cool patterns on them, and a shirt with FLAMES w0000000t! So I make a few, and start to change.
No luck. I'm nekid in my shop, sobbing. Customers think I'm nuts.
That is so bogus on so many levels. It's bad enough that you made only 2 new things for humans. a big ol' cloak, and that skirt. Or.. that the skirt you made with a waist that will only dye certain colors which TOTALLY limits what you can do with it...
What sucks, what totally and completely sucks is that you CAN make really cool stuff, I mean REALLY cool. You just don't. And now, you've made them ,but made them UNUSABLE to everyone. So.. I will NEVER use these schematics. It's just pathetic.
I'm very very disappointed. I don't even know what to say.

I got excited about the bell bottoms/hip huggers too.....its just too bad we can't wear them, which I don't really understand why at all.

Id understand if they didnt say "wearable by most races" Im afraid to put the things on the vendor for fear of people buying them thinking they can wear them because they say that.

I knowI will not be stocking Ithorian clothing. For starters I doubt we will see a whole lot of them & I still have customers who are confused by wookie clothing (non wookies buying wookie clothing).

Currently I have a vendor specifically for Wookiees, and I plan to do the same for Ithorians. It will keep the confusion to a minimum, and prevent people from having to look through pages of clothing they can't even wear.

Those of you in beta know that we weren't supposed to even get anything for humans at all. It was explained to me that this is a SPACE expansion, and no other profession got new content that was not related to space or to the new species. I'm sorry, but I feel a bit insulted when I hear complaints about how we didn't get enough new items. I put a lot of work into getting those new human garments. Greenmarine did too - on his own time, and his own initiative.

I think part of it is that ithorian clothes, many of them look VERY good. Much better than most of the pre-existing stuff. Naturally people want to put it on

I'm excited for the new clothing we have, and while the Ithorian clothing isvery nice, part of me is glad we didn't get more humanoid clothing. (The only complaint that I do have is that I feel bad for the poor Wookiees, they need some clothing love.) We have about 10 new items now, and I was insanely swamped yesterday. I can't imagine if we got more. Let's appreciate what we did get, and not complain because we didn't get enough. I think what we got yesterday should keep me busy for awhile, and I still have hope foreven more cool, new items in the future.

Why would you be upset about Ithorian clothes? First of all, they didn't have to add *any* new clothes for anyone but the new races. Instead, they decided to listen to our requests for some new clothes for all races, and they gave them to us! This is the first time since SWG launched that new clothes were given to us *for our own benefit*! They weren't added because there needed to be new loot and they weren't added because some other profession had a revamp (like the chef aprons). We should be very happy about this! Second of all, when they created the Ithorian clothes they came up with a compltely new way of making clothes! Before it was very labor intensive and each piece of clothing had to be made completely from scratch. Now they can use generic templates, change the shapes of a few areas (like the necklines of shirts and jackets), add a texture over them and make new clothes rapidly. What this means to us is that now that the art department isn't going crazy making new ships and new art for JTL, there might be more opportunity to ask for new clothes for the rest of us! I wouldn't complain about that!

I don't think anyone should be insulted...for I don't think anyone is saying we didn't get enough items.
I mean, the only thing I really would like is the socket thing fixed and the big color pallette extended for every item. In my eyes those are the big things left that need to be adjusted which bug me to no end sometimes (necklaces being visible was another thing that annoyed me, but its been fixed for a bit so I am still a happy camper about that).
Other then those above stated issues, everything else is just extra stuffies that are really nice to have. Would have been nice to have hip huggers, but honestly...I was thrilled to get what we did get. I just was a bit confuzzled about it saying "wearable by most human" what nots, and then hearing it was a certain race only. That to me just seems a tad misleading/disconcerting. I would put it more on par with how much hides are being required for those new fangled hotpants (I mean, did our bootays really get that much bigger with this expansion?
)
As to how hard the correspondents work, I honestly don't know how ya'll do it. I don't think I would be able to do RL stuffies, then come to something that is supposed to be just for relaxing/escape/fun and deal with more work (and extra loads of attitude). My hat goes off to you, Panthu and any of the others here in this realm who do such a big/difficult job.

You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses - Unknown
We got two items we have been asking for forever and several others we a) also wanted b)didn't even know to want. We got a whole new line of clothing to make for Ithorians, instead of a paltry little line like Wooks.
The new Ithorian clothes (which are label "Ithorian" so I really dont' see where the confusion comes from) actually gave me some hope for what we might see for the other races in the future.
Guess it is true what my grandmother always says...people will complain even if you hang them with a new rope.

I'm very grateful for our new clothes, and grateful to our hardworking correspondent for getting us what we got. I'm still annoyed at the devs, though, and can see where the original poster is coming from. Where the heck are their priorities? They spend 90% of the clothes design effort for JTLS catering to a race maybe 5% of the player base will actually use, while giving a few patterns to the races probably90% of the game plays. It's the wasted, misplaced effort that drives me absolutely, positively nuts. Why not look at what we've been ASKING for for 14 months, and devote substantial new artwork timeto those items?
This is something Sony devs seem to have ingrained into their culture: they not only don't listen to their players, they seem to actively go out of their way to ignore them, almost as though that dictate is in theemployeeconduct book or in some long term game design planning document. EQ was exactly the same way. But it doesn't have to be that way: there are devs out there in other games (CoH)who listen to the people who actually play the game. I just wish, wish, wish, WISH that some of that would migrate over to the dang Sony design team for SWG.
But I don't think it's gonna happen.
