Though not specifically to the people that should have already been told this.

Posted this in the "socketing update" thread but if you missed it:

why do we all need 4 sockets on every single peice of clothing. I don't have a problem with the new socketing. When you make something with 4 sockets rather then 2, you can charge more.

Yeah, now convince all our customers of that Not a single one of my customers will buy something with less than 4 sockets. Im still getting orders but they all want to wait and see if this is fixed. Things with less than 4 sockets are not selling off my vendor at all. Its all about what people will buy and they are so used to 4 sockets being the norm, anything less is a crappy outfit to them.

Yeah, i had a customer 2 days ago asking for a set of clothing with max sockets possible..

to make Footwear, Handwear, Headwear, Jacket, Pants, Shirt with 3-4 sockets each it took my around 60tries..

such a pity i didn't have any 4-socketed stuff in my vendor left, too..

Every customer I sell to sees the item and says "It's olny gots 2 soks, do agin plz" - and the grammatically correct will spell better, but say the same thing. They want 4 sockets. ESPECIALLY on the BE clothes. My vendor is sitting nearly empty, because if I stick 1 and 2 socket items on it, I can be assured that they will be there in 30 days to be put back on.

I don't believe a word of what TH said. We got more sockets as our experimentation increased. I think they copied the armoursmith code to us, and it was their code that was broken.

FIX IT DEVS!!!! No excuses...

I agree with others in this thread. The broken socket issuedoesn't make sense to be a function that was intended.

Firstly, for nine months tailoring sockets have been 'broke' and they don't decide till now to fix it?

Not a heads up.

And when NJ had persistantly asked the dev's what was going on, there was no answer for a week, and still, they asked questions about it as if they didn't know themselves what was going on.

Not to mention the Master to 4 socket ratio is completely out of whack.

As for why someone asked 'what's the big deal'?

This is not just a big deal.

This is a HUGE deal.

Four sockets are the norm, and honestly, I see no reason to change it since it's been this way since the game came out. It's what everyone demandsfrom a master tailor, and no less. It's not like BE tailored items are all powerful and are out-ballancing game play issues.*snicker*

Sad to say, this will especially kill the poor BE Tailor's business, considering they will have arough go of trying to get four sockets to show without the ability to at least experiment on it.

And finally, might I add...worst customer service issue concerning tailors ever. Thanks TH!

By the way, I responded to Thuderheart's post. Since he is likely to read threads that he posted in before for responses, maybe it is a good idea for other people to do the same. If you do, make sure to be calm and logical in your responses and explain the issues as clearly as you can. Don't scream or complain about how angry you are or how much you hate SWG, the devs, Thunderheart or whatever (whoever) since that is likely to hurt our cause. Be constructive and try to explain as clearly as possible what is going on, how it is affecting us as tailors, how you see it affecting us in the future and make suggestions about how to make things better. It may not get things changed immediately, but it can't hurt (as long as we don't flame and make them want to ignore us!).

While I want my sockets back just on principle, I've never had a single person talk to me about socketing or reject something for it's socket numbers. It may have something to do w/ the fact that attachements that give anything other than +1 are ludicrously expensive on the trade forum, but I haven't seen much of an impact on sales so far. Of course, I am a very lazy tailor!

Thats strange. I am asked for 4 socketed clothing at least several times a day! Many of my customers won't accept anything less!

I don't give a rat's sweet arse WHAT was 'intended' all along - it's NOT the way it's worked - ever.

This far out from release - I can swallow a nerf if there is some really good overriding balance reason for it - but I'm not seeing ANY balance reasons in this - if anything - with 4 being the norm for a year for masters - nerfing now CAUSES imbalance.

4 sockets is the ONLY perception of 'quality' tailoring has. God knows - i do NOT want experimentation back, but it's a perception thing on the part of customers. I'll wager most don't even USE them - and who the hell knows if and/or WHEN tapes will EVER work as advertised.

It makes no bloody sense to fix things that ain't broke - especially when it has only negative impact.

They are screaming about the database bulging - what about those 10 or 20 items I have to make to get that order that insists on 4 sockets? I'm SURE as hell not going to destroy them - I'll pop them on the vendor and they can set there till doomsday till they sell.

Do not listen to TH he is never right about anything. in fact since he said this you can almost bet it is wrong and it was a bug that they did not know about.

My guess is they gave us the armorsmith socklet rules but not the experementation to get it up to 4 sockets. So they need to give us experimentation or fix it back the way it was.
