This is my take as well. The way it works today may have been a perfectly reasonable implementation had it been made last June. But this is now nearly a year later and it does much much much more harm then good to suddely switch to this implementation after all this time. And like you said, where in the HELL are their priorities that such a thing should be done over all the other things they could be working on. Nerfing tailors?
