How many of you cleared out all your customers from your friends list? I did..
I'm calling Pub 10 the Stalker Patch. No more white lies to my customers, "Er sorry I've just arrived on Dath, checking out the rancors.."

*snickers and raises her hand* Emptying out my friends list was the FIRST thing I did when I logged on after the patch. No more customers or suppliers or smacktards or guildies or citizens on my list. Onlya fewleft on there now: my son and daughter-in-law and acouple other friends who will leave me be when I say I am busy without getting all fussyover it.

LOL yes I have to admit I did it too. I went from around 50 to 5 on my friends list. I refused to be stalked

I did some testing on this, and it does not tell you what planet the "friend" is on. It just says waypoint created and if they are on another planet you see nothing else, now I'm willing to guess that if you go to that planet then the wp will show.

Absolutely! I did it for all of my alts too! I can see the reason for a /findfriend command, but they couldn't have been thinking about crafters when they came up with the idea! I wish I could have an anonymous mode so I could play Momoko during the busy times of day!

Actually No..I tested this out with a friend..and if they are on another planet, the waypoint simply appears in your datapadwith their name and on which planet. But it only makes a waypoint for them where they are at that exact moment that you did the find friend. There is nothing to stop the friend from moving on after that point to another location![]()
edit: Forgot some information.

What I posted on the corre board:
A lot of players are uncomfortable with the fact that any joe schmoe can see that they are online, if that schmoe has the player on his/her friends list. We've been promised, in fact, an /anonymous feature so that we can logon in peace.
Now, to add insult to injury, if you add someone to your friends list, he/she can stalk your position. Now, there are many people I keep on my friends list, and it's a convenient tool for noting down customers (nice and evil ones), suppliers, etc. I don't want those people, however, to know my exact location at all times, so I'm purging my list of everyone but my close close friends. So basically the friends list has become almost meaningless for me because if I add someone to it, I'm forced to ask myself whehter I want that person to be able to find me at all times. The answer to that is usually NO.
Tailors, and all crafters for that matter, are usually victims of tell hell when they log on. The last thing they need is someone barging in to wherever they happen to be hiding. Tailors have purged their friends list, because of patch 10. That's just not right.
Please, please, please reconsider this evil feature.

That is exactly right! I can't think of many things more annoying than someone saying, "I need some uber doctor cloths. I will be there in a minute." when you are out checking harvesters or refilling vendors or just doing things with friends.

/cheer n'Jessi! Yay!
It is entirely possible to find exactly where someone is, even another planet. I tested this "dandy" little feature after I purged my list of all but the few people I didn't mind if they "stalked" me down. My friend didn't see any problem with the /findFriend feature. He laughed at my stressing out over it. He is neither a crafter nor a merchant.
Me: *types in /findFriend My Friend. Looks in datapad and switches to all planets view.* My Friend is on Lok at xxxx, xxx
Me: Hey there. Hunting on Lok again today?
My Friend: Yeah. What are you doing?
Me: Hiding. As usual. Tell hell before done loading again. And now I can't lie or hit my afk reply macro when I am not in the mood to play tailor slaveand say, "Sorry, but I'm on the backside of Lok just now, please check my vendor or email a custom order please, thank you." Oh no, now they can retort, "No you're not. I just did /findFriend on you and it says you are on Tat in your shop. I'll be there in 3 min." So now I have to get rude and tell people to pi$$ off. Grrr.
My Friend: LOL! That's silly. Just say no. Besides, it's good your customers can always find you. It's a pain sending people your WP when you are busy.
Me: No, seriously. Most people will not take no for an answer. Whatever, you've heard my litany about good, bad and ugly customers. I purged my friend's list today. Only about 6 people left on it now.
My Friend: ROFL! Seriously, that is messed up. No one is going to stalk you down. Don't be ridiculous. =P
Me: *types in /findFriend Jedi Char (his brand new Baby Jedi) Baby Jedi is on Endor at xxx, xxxx (he has two PCs and often runs both accounts at once)
Me: Baby Jedi is on Endor at xxx, xxxx
My Friend: *screams* OMFG!
Well. Suffice it to say I scared the bejeebies out of Baby Jedi. He lives in mortal terror of BHs. I told him only if the friend's list was mutual could anyone find his loc, but he was well into full panic mode by then...
And purged his friend's list too. And quit lauging at me.

lol @ quitu
They shouldadd another catagory to the list, an aquaintances catagory that we could add customers and suppliers and such to, thus reserving the friends list with it's findfriend option for what's it's meant for. Real friend
.

Here's my idea of /findfriend
/t Friend1 dude where are you
Friend1 tells you "dant 3340 2232"
/waypoint 3340 2232
Now I realize that /findfriend is a lot easier, but hell, if you want someone to find you, there are already-existing easy ways to do it. With all the time sinks in the game, we can deal with typing in wp coordinates or sending an email with the wp.
