Hrm this never actually bothered me, ive not left my shop in about 3 weeks, which was when i lastran out to buysome resources.
if im online anyone knows where i am
and they have my shop waypoint, they dont even need /findfriend really.
But i do see your points, and i think it would be worse for jedi and overt people in general.

I cleared mine all out too
I really hate this new feature...grrrr... I love to have my privacy and there are sometimes that I just want to hang out with people and not be bothered by anyone else.
I thought I'd be safe to just let my guildies on, but, lmao the other night I was out hunting out on Dantooine and a guildie came the whole way there just because they wanted a new dress for an event that night..lol..she's so lucky that I always keep my supplies on me

I didn't clear out my friends list, and I don't doubt most people would forget about it (if they'd remove the reminder whenever a friend logs in), but I truely understand the fear of /tell hell. I pretty much stopped doing custom orders months ago and (thankfully) I had such an established set of BE vendors, that I don't need to make myself available to everyone (I'm not searchable, I never have my tag up, when people ask me about my tailor badge, I'll often say I dropped it or I say I'm out of components
). Even for guilmates I make them send me an e-mail and I'll get totheir request when I feel like it
.
I'm very much in favor of an anonymus login system, because I feel the pain of those patient crafters who make themselves availble to the masses. I remember the days of having to drop everything, just to make that purple hat for one of my few repeat customers.

I thought they were going to implement a privacy feature? I was somewhat baffled by this anyways. How many times have players asked for a privacy option? *grumbles*

I keep hoping against hope that each minipub will include some kind of anonymous feature or privacy feature. Sometimes you just want to log on and do your own thing, or stay on for a short bit and not get tied up in something else. I also hope one day for an aquantice list, or customer list, so you can keep a friend list for true friends, and another for people you want to remember.
I keep looking for those in each of the patch notes, but no luck yet

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who feels a bit entrapped by the /findfriend feature. I feel so...stalked.
If anything, instead of adding a /findfriend feature, they should have a /hide feature instead.
I have to admit to also doing some cleaning of the friends list in response to this patch. In addition to friends, I was also adding customers. Now Im much more weary about who I add to my friends list. It went from something I used to organize contacts, to a group of small people I wouldn't mind showing up randomly while I was in the middle of no where on Endor. Sometimes Tailors really need a vacation away from their vendors and crafting. I love being a tailor, but sometimes I've done so much restocking that if I see another crafting session I think I'm going to spontaneously combust, and therefore need to escape for an evening to wander around the galaxy with friends. Although I don't think 99% of my customers that were on my list would even use the /findfriend feature, that 1% that was on my list to give me advanced warning to expect tell-stalking when they sign on make me think twice about my friends list.

I'm a person that can't say no. Most people have me on their friend list and I get about 20 tells when I log in. I just do the best I can, and work my way through the orders when I first get online. Having an /anon feature would help, though I would hope it's in the launchpad, so you could enable/disable it BEFORE your status is confirmed by the sytem.
I'd like to see an /anon feature where ONLY your friend listed people could see your there, and perhaps a true anon feature where you are the invisible woman, unable to be seen by anyone. Tells get the message "Jame'thiel is not online" and I can craft for 30 minutes in piece before opening for business.
Well, I'll just keep typing fast and furious and remain Queen of Mistells until they do something about it.

I completely agree that this feature has caused me to empty my friends list. I had used the friends list to keep track of clients, and such. I didn't catch on right away, until some of the clients started to walk right up to me when I was out hunting (or acting like I was AFK in a town). So I have deleted them.
In good news, Pub 10 somehow got me to come back to the forums.

yeah the anon feature would have to be on the launchpad, because by the time you make it into the game, its too late. I just want a feature where I can log on, do my thing, and hop off if I want, or do something alone for a bit, then "open for business".
