Thread: What style house is your shop?
Hi fellow tailors!
I have a medium Naboo house and every day it starts to bother me a little more that the lighting in my shop is so dim, and the torches put off an annoying smoke and dont help illuminate all that much.
I was wondering what other style houses you shop owners have, and how do like and make use of the layouts, etc.?
I'm definitely jealous of your naboo house. Naboo has probably the most attractive houses in the game. Personally I have a medium Corellian house. I like it, mainly because it is spacious. I use the very large entryroom as the vendor room, and decorated it with some really nice furniture and of course pets (with my theme being what it is) ![]()
I originally envisioned displaying at least some of my top selling outfits in one of the other rooms so people could see them, but with the house object limit being what it is for med and small houses, that just isn't an option. I use 2 of the three other rooms as work and storage rooms, and the remaining room is unused. It sucks because I think with a medium house you have tons of space, but the object count is so limiting that it is impossible to really use all that space effectively.
large tatooine house
i like the large front room with balcony for display
the lighting in pretty much all the houses blows tho, i found a spot in the corner near the back stairs that has decent lighting, but it's really hard to see color detail.
i get a lot of "that's black? it looks green to me" (and this is using the dark gray "black")
I have a medium generic, floorplan 2 as well. I like the Naboo houses to live in, but I prefer the generic style for clothing shops. My first shop was a small generic, the one with 2 large rooms and no hallway. I then upgraded to the medium generic with 3 rooms (all the same size, I believe).
I have at least one seating area in each room (making sure to have two seats, since only one person can sit on a couch at a time). It's funny how people do sit down and hang out. The first room hascombat/field wear oriented clothing, the second room has my vendor, a few master items, some outfits I've come up with, and a jewelry display. The third room is all women's wear - dresses, skirts, exotic wear, etc. I try to change out the displays from time to time, but need to go back through and add more of master colored items. I have sold a few outfits based on my displays (hey, I want that exact outfit there!) so I think it's worth the effort.
I also have a medium Naboothat is supposed to be my home, but right now it's mostly decorated with floating backpacks. :-)

I really like the way the Naboo houses look, I think that have a nice "tailor shop" feel.
My only complaint was the lighting, and it always seemed that the Generic houses were bright inside... is it just a... grass is greener kind of thing?
I'm gathering from everyone that the lighting is bad in ALL houses? *sigh*
I use a generic PA hall. 210+ items spread across 3 floors on display.
I have 2 medium generics from building IV as primary warehouses.

I just use a small generic (floor plan 2). I used to have displays, but I've found that my it didn't affect my business one way or another so I took them down (because it did affect my framerate in the house).
And yes the lighting sucks in all of the house styles. My house "seems" like it should have enough light, everything looks just like a big black blob against the extreme white walls.
Worst part is, in the center of the main entry, where my vendor is, not only is the lighting terrible, you can't even use your personal light to illuminate things! I turn it on, the person 2M from me is still black from being in darkness, and the wall 10M behind them lights up....
methings something is wrong with that.
