Thread: hood-up cloaks petition

People beg for cloaks with the hood up, or better yet a way to raise and lower the hood on their existing cloak. how about a radial menu option on cloaks called ''hood up'' if its down and ''hood down'' if its up?

if nothing else, how about some hood up cloaks. I see NPCs with them all the time.

I'm always getting asked for robes/cloaks with the hood up, would love to see a schematic for something like that!

There are too many Jedi-wannabes and "Goth" kids on these galaxies. The last thing I need is someone with a hood up on their black cloack which matches their other 5 black articles of clothing.

Sorry, I just don't want to see this. Maybe Jedi cloaks should get the Hood up perk.

I'd be in favor of some types of hooded clothing (maybe shirts or jackets), but I agree that maybe hood-up cloaks should be a jedi thing. I know I'd be able to sell a ton of them, but they'd get old so fast! They'd be like the new dusters... something we're all sick of seeing.

Id like to poin out, though, that one reason we'd see alot of it, is because alot of people would want it. there seems to be an undercurreent in this game of ''if you really want it, you will never get it.'' I give you the ''everyone wants to be a jedi but the game was set not in the era when there were thousands of jedi but instead when there were almost none'' factor. yes, you'd see alot. yes, you already see alot of dusters. im a tailor, lord knows i grimace everytime i hear ''black duster''. but its what they want, and its agme. are you upset by it? that's silly. let them have what they want.

I understand your point, but I don't want to see everyone in game wearing hood up cloaks for the same reason I'm glad that it's really hard to be a jedi. Millions of jedi running around wouldn't be very Star Warsy. Very few people in the movies (in our time period) had hood up cloaks. Because that's a jedi look and very few people wanted to look like Jedi (including most of the hiding jedi).

It's the same reason I'm against some of the new clothing suggestions as well. I know we need more hats, but I hope they never add cowboy hats. Again, not Star Warsy. I guess I'm just trying to RP too much in a role playing game. But I'm against having too many things in game that aren't Star Wars. I already have to laugh occasionally when overt imps come up to me and ask me to make them look like a Jedi.

Having hood up cloaks in game, but having them limited, would be much more Star Warsy than just letting everyone have them. Maybe they could make them one of the rare schematic drops instead of just giving them to all of us?

By that "let them have what they want" logic, we'd all be jedi, have 300 skill points, or start the game with a million credits. People have a right to want anything they want in this game. But they don't automatically have the right to get what they want. Just like I have the right to have a list of things I don't want to see, not like the devs are going to listen to me either!

I hate to say it, but I completely disagree with you. I don't see how hooded cloaks in any way impact the Star Warsy feel. We've already got the Grand Healer's Robe in there. What makes that one acceptable and another that anyone can wear not?

Cowboy hats aren't Star Warsy, I agree. But it seems everyone in the movies wore some kind of cape or cloak at some point, and while maybe only Jediswore them with the hoods up (though I have an odd feeling I'm forgetting someone who wasn't a Jedi...), there's no reason to believe that people wouldn't wear a dang hood in a sandstorm. It's far less believable that only Jedi (and Twi/Human/Zabrak/Mon Cal women) can wear hooded cloaks, while the rest of the populace stares haplessly as their hair gets wet/sandy.

Honestly, if hooded cloaks in going to ruin your RP, you may be RPing too much in this RPG.

Well, not to nitpick, but the Grand Healers Robe isn't a cloak. It's a robe. I think it should be made wearable by men (and by other species). And as I saidin an earlier post,it would be nice if they'd add more hooded items. Hooded robes, coats, maybe even a poncho type style would be pretty cool. I'm just against every tailorflooding themarket with jedi cloaks.

I'm kind of sick of the "make me look like a jedi" crowd, and would hate to make the jedi look easier to get for every character and their grandma. That's all. We have such a wide variety of coats to choose from, and my customers are finally starting to request dusters less and less. I had a guy yesterday ask me for anything but a duster. It was great. So it would make me sad if they added in another item that would become a must-have item for everyone just when I'm starting to see more and more variety in outfits showing up!

Lol

I wonder if we can expect this kind of timeframe for our issues too...meh...

actually, seeing people with hoods up on their cloaks is far mor star warsy than dusters. given a choice id take the cloak over the duster anyday. but let them wear dusters. let them wear whatever they want. why would you be against it? Seeing people in star wars gear can only add to the experience. And yes, there are several characters who wear cloaks with hoods up who are not jedi. Sorry, watch the films, heck just watch a new hope. in fact, just watch the mos eisley scene in a new hope.

just watched episode II... the cantina scene alone had handfuls of people sipping drinks in their cloaks with their hoods up...and i dont suspect they were jedi.

Have to disagree....that look should be rightly reserved for Jedis only (whenever we see em). Just as Stormtrooper armor is something only a high factioned Imperial should get, the whole Jedi ensemble should be awarded to Padawans and Masters.

I know that's not a popular opinion, I could forgoe the fantastic sales of such an item in exchange for not seeing 2000 of them on my server.
