Thread: Dear Tailors, whats the secret ????

There is no secret. They come out automatically. For domestic arts clothing you need the engineering line of artisan. For tailor clothes you need the tailoring line. After that it is just pure luck. Somtimes the rate of getting 4 sockets can be frustrating.
I know everyone says this... but I must /disagree. +25 assembly, high OQ resources and high OQ-made subcomponents get me 4 sockets 99% of the time. I am not crafting in a research center (or even a city for that matter). Having master artisan may help me as well.

EDIT: Just thought I'd add: I never bother with inspiration buffs either.

I tried this, but I do craft in a research center with a 14.98 tool and a 44 station, and it didnt show any improvement for me. I also tried with the same resources outside of the research center with a droid crafted with all high end resources and also one crafted with grind qual resources. No change was seen at all for me. My suit is +25/+25 (I made it just to have it). When I tried this I had master artisan, but I just dropped the master part and 1 box of survey. I didnt see a difference at all really. Im still at well over 300 deco vets with only 3 being 4 socket. Ive made over 100 link-steel gloves and only about 5 of them have been 4 sockets, though on those I do get alot of 3 as with the vests I get mostly 0-2. I had been a master tailor/artisan for almost 2 years. So I think what works for some doesnt always work for others. Its great if you were able to find something that helps you get 4 sockets, but most of us arent as lucky.

You may /disagree but even the devs say they can't influence the number of sockets. After you posted this a few weeks ago I tried your formual of high OQ everything (including subcomponents) and it made no difference whatsoever. I've been tailoring for over 12 months and haven't been able to influence socket rate.
There are times ... sometimes weeks at a stretch ... when the number of 4 socket garments far outweighs the number with lower sockets. But these stretches never last. There are also times when a particular item suddenly seems to be capped for sockets (but this doesn'st last either). Between February and June it was Twi'lek Lekku wraps that were my bugbear ... I threw away 80% of the ones I made because they had 0 or 1 socket. From June to date they behaved like everything else ... but in the last week they are 4 socket magnets.
I suspect that the socket gods are just on your side ... ![]()

*LOL* Where do I get a shrine to these gods?....... <snip>....... Looking for a shrine to the socket gods "DontWasteResources" and "YouAreBlessedWithMoreThan2Sockets",

You mean you don't already go through the socket ritual before each crafting session?
Dressed in flourescent pink hawpants you must sacrifice a virgin Ranger [1]and then circle your crafting station [2] at least 3 times while chanting "Socket gods, heed my plight, make my clothes with 4 tonight".
Notes:
[1] Some people believe that a virgin sacrificing aRanger in Hawtpants is equally as appeasing to the gods. But believe me, it is easier to find a virgin Ranger than a Hawtpanted Ranger.
[2] Don't try this with your little droid station, it will follow you and you'll get dizzy and fall over .... and then you have to start again with the whole Ranger/Virgin/Hawtpants thing.

This, i am sorry, is impossible... as soon as i think of female twi'leks, i can't focus on prayers any more...
