Thread: just hit master tailor, i grinded all the way
If you had grinded up to fieldware 4 first and then grinded on the cartridge belts you could have done it in 1 day ![]()
I got halway through fieldware 4 last night (only about 30k xp) but i spend the firsthalf of the night dancing in the cantina and talking to freinds.
I think it's awsume you did it so fast! Only thing you miss out on is two things I kinda enjoy. Getting a color box and being so excited cause i can make those pants green finally!! Getting a new clothing box and trying all of the new schimatics on myselfin my signature black/purple combo. Selling the new things on the bazzar at a higher price then my newbie stuff!!
Those things are very exciting. I personally enjoy the journey to master almost more then master itself. I do grind though because I am not *that* patient.
Congrats
I doubt to many people though will say congrats cause most players DISLIKE grinding ![]()
We've all ground some, like it or not, but there are hazards to grinding xp. To make master I got impatient at the end and ground through my last tree (casual) in a couple hours, and consequently I don't know that tree's clothes very well. I imagine grinding the whole thing in 2 days means you know almost nothing about the clothing you now have access to, or the color combinations that look good on which clothing. And you'll also find after reaching master there's not much left to do, make clothes/sell for money, make clothes/sell for money, ect. Once the goal of master is reached SWG kinda losses a little shine.
To anyone else reading this I'd suggest taking a little time, everyone grinds some, but don't take it to an extrememe like this, pause at each tree and play around with your new clothing. You'll find yourself enjoying it more.
Hey can you make me a bright red metal bikini anda luxurious gown with red on top and right blue on the bottom? Oh! and to go with that I want some red, short gloves, a Robe of honor with Mask Scent, Bleed Defense and Creature Taming? That would be so cool! Better yet I want a purple reinforced shirt with treatment too!! Oh and I have a wookiee friend who wants a neon-orange sigiled waist wrap. Oh and while you're making those can I have a white mercenary bandolier with treatment tissue? Oh and a red pair of high-quality boots to go with it all.
I'll give ya 6k for it! ![]()
*shudder*
oh well, takes all types I suppose. Of course you now know nothing about the clothing market, the clothes you make, nor the needs of your customers. Good luck with it. I guess that's the falacy of customers often times wanting to deal with a master. They figure that person is more knowledgeable as well as being skilled and that is certainly not always the case.
Personally I've been tailoring for a couple months now and am 1 box (formalwear 4) from master. I rarely grind, maybe an hour a week, but generally when I get to within 20k or so of a box I get anxious and finish it off with a half-hour grinding session. I just can't stomach any more than that, and ever since I hit 3-0-0-2 money has been very good, so no need to rush it. I'm glad I did it the way I did. I already have a nice customer base, including some very loyal repeat customers, I know most of the outfits very well, I know the prices of items in my area and on my server very well (I can make a lot of money just buying underpriced items and reselling them at the "going rate" in fact) so I feel I am well prepared for when I reach master this week.
The only real appeal of hitting master to me is being able to satisfy those few customers who specifically ask for master level items.
You guys all act like ohhhhhhh grinding is so bad and your sooooooooo special for not grinding, and gosh your just better then anyone who has.
Assumptions are often wrong. It's rude of you guys to assume that person KNOWS NOTHING. The same way it would be rude of me to assume you don't or do. Fine they grind and you don't like it, but it's really ignorant to make that assumption.
Maybe some of them think your stupid for not grinding, but their smart enough not to say it outloud and look stupid, they same way you guys do when you insult people who grind.
There are nicer ways to say it like, "Well ya know you probably lost out on learning each box and what you have and can make".. etc..
Sorry i didn't say the above very nicley but i think it's ignorant and mean to assume things about them and insult them just because of a difference of opinion.
There are lots of good things about NOT grinding, and good things about grinding. It depends on your play style and what you want to get out of the game.
I don't mean to offen anyone but it just think it is so mean and stuburn to be like that.

I have abolsutley no idea what to sell my clothing for
but I am watching and reading posts on that topic.. i figure it will take me a while to get a hang of it.
You can learn an AWFUl lot from reading these boards and from seeing all of you guys cool website. I just think it's rude to assume that they know jack. Are they a troll? Maybe. Or maybe they are just uber excited they did it.
Starphire, please explain how someone who has admitted not selling a single item of clothing in SWG knows about selling clothing in SWG. There's no assumption here, just stating a fact.
As far as being "special", no, don't think so, just people who have sold a lot of clothing ![]()
