The madness has got to end.

Why aren't more tailors upset that more and more items they come out with need US to supply a stupid piece of cloth or trim and yet we get NOTHING to make our profession better.

I am so annoyed I gotta take a break from the game...

*shrugs* I only supply cloths for my guild 'smith, and I only supply trim for a chef friend. They don't make too many demands, so I'm not unhapy with how things are working so far. On the other hand, I've also got an alt that I just picked up a combat profession with, so I can go out and hit things with a big hammer when I get too annoyed at customers. Hehe.

Never been a problem for me. I just tell people I don't deal in components, period. I cloestest I come is making MS's for my PA pals if they provide all the materials.

Akaara,

Just say "no", that's what I do. If someone outside my guild and close circle of friends asks for component, I say my factory is busy making stuff I need and I have no spares, you'll have to find a tailor that is in that biz. Buh bye. If someone in my guild or close circile of friends asks for them, I make a schematic and hand that to them. I just don't want to be bothered with it. Same deal with the looted stuff. Another big headache I don't want to deal with, only it's worse because everyone gets so huffy about this stuff when big money is involved.

As far as us not getting anything else to make tailoring better, 100% agreement, and that is by far my biggest problem right now. There has not been a single schematic added to tailor that I value since release, and someone up there somehow seems to think that because we are "getting to" supply others with components that this in some way makes up for that.

I do say not but why do the dev's continually add things that we DON'T want or care about?

It's just aggravating to have the necklace bug still hanging around and yet they add more stupid componants for us, whoopie do.

It's that whole interdependency thing Some bio engineers don't deal in tailor tissues. So like others suggested, just say no

lol I have to say I hope all professions dont feel that way about makingcomponents. sure i dont like people always asking me for components but thats how the game is set up to make everyone depend on someone elses profession.

if everyone says they wont make components then other professions cant craft.I need bio enhanced tissues, chef's need the trim for cask's and bio tissues for the best foods. its an annoying set up but we cant all just not do it or everything just stops.

I am upset Chiana. I don't want to become a factory. I have said that 2 times already. I like this profession and I am making a nice living at it. I like the interaction with the customers more. I enjoy outfitting people. That is what a tailor should do. My sugestion is for the wooies armor to be a leather armor craftable by tailors. Just vecause it is leather doesn't mean it can't be good stuff and even have the stats that the armor they already have in mind has. Leather armor is more like something I think a wookie would wear anyways. This game needs more armor choices why not add leather armor be it just for wookies or for everyone. AND it should be made by tailors not armorsmiths. Nothing against armorsmiths but I think they pretty much got their plate full with what they have to craft atm. I give componets to guildmates and schematics which I do not mind doing. I don't get hounded by people I don't know but this will cause just that. We will have everyone under the sun sending us tells. It will be seen as our obligation. It either needs to be removed or let us make the final product.

I would love to actually make the wookiee battle padding.. into armor! I am befuddled as to why they came up with new art work when battle padding is already in the game. I agree that tailors should maybe make the wookiee armor ourselves not armorsmiths.

I guess I don't understand all the animosity towards making 'components' as you call them.

They aren't just components...they are an integral piece which builds a better, larger product.

If your problem is that you are sick of all the tells from AS's asking for your wares, then just give them a polite NO. If they harass you, treat them like you would any other snot-nosed brat. Report them! Besides, you think you get a lot of tells from AS's or chefs asking for cloth or trim...imagine if you were the AS getting tells asking for padded armour, when you specialize in Composite!

Do the leading, richest AS's askthat Bone, or Padded armour be removed from their entire profession? Nope...they choose to have other AS's specialize in making it, while the 'leading' ones just direct the interest in those other armour types away from themselves. It's not hard to understand, folks...just because you don't want something doesn't mean it shouldn't be here!

A better analogy is the BE's: You could very easily say their 'primary' business should be creating BE pets. Fair enough. Does that mean that all the tissue making for use, or micronutrients for chefs should be removed from their prof? NO! That's just silly! There are BE's who specialize in making pets...there are others who only make tissues! Why can't we live in that same, civilized way?

Some tailors can be the 'true' tailors, and make outfits, while others can deal in the 'components'...making things that are WANTED by other professions, and helping each other grow as a collective

I think there's some misinterpretation here. I think Chiana's point is not necessarily anti-component, it's just that we are supporting more and more professions and not getting too much new content ourselves, which I understand somewhat. However I think people are missing the boat as far as components--as a novice tailor I would have been thrilled to make components for people just to make some cash. For some reason everyone wants a master to make their components though which as we all know is just unnecessary.
