Oh hang on, I just read another of your posts and am now confused:
<quote>
think the main issues in this transaction are:
- we don't use it in our own stuff (only master artisans make stuff they can't use, elite professions shouldn't)
- experimentation (and armor experimentation at that)
- materials have stats
- the materials are hides

Could someone on Test possibly don some +10 tailor experimentation clothing and see if they get an extra point?

I meant experimentation on armor-related stats. I have the full 10 experimentation points as a master tailor and a non-armorsmith.

So time to break out those tailor crafting aprons and clothing experimentation tapes then? rofl, oh yea, I forgot, I have no interest in being a component broker.

Not a big deal I know, but I am hoping that this may promote wider use of tailor experimentation. I am excited about that.

Eeer... am I the only one who DOESN'T want want to see an introduction of experimentation into the tailor profession? I'm up to my eyes in work normally as it is and experimentation will just hold me up more when working on customers orders at starports.
I can se a lot of benefits too, but speaking as a very busy tailor I REALLY don't like shifting all my harvs around every time a resource shifts just to keep up with good resources (this would be horrific if experimentation on synth cloths gave a big bonus to armour made with it, I'd have every armoursmith I deal with (a LOT) screaming for the best quality fibreplast and inert). I'm busy enough without surveying myself/hiring a surveyor to look for resources.

Just tell people at starports you won't experiment. If they want experimented clothes come see you later. That is not a justification for denyingthe profession a missing and intended dimension.

Oh I know that wasn't my intent it was just a personal viewpoint I actually voted to keep it in. I want to see us gain more things to make , Granted I'd rather see us get more proper tailor clothing items but I also don't want to see us lose something either, after all it is our choice to make it or not.

I'm not…it would pretty much signal the end of my tailoring career. I spend enough time on finding resources as it is, I have no interest in spending even more time to find 'perfect' resources. Not to mention, I am not going to experiment out every item in a 40 item order…just a total pain in the…. Maybe if I could experiment out a schematic for an item, then colorize on removal from crate…but even then the resource hunting would be very off-putting.

Agood point. Well how about this then? Adopt the way the new wookie pillow thing works and let us experiment just on all the clothing components? Synth cloth, RFP, Jewelry settings etc.
