Thread: The Devs have heard us!! Thank you JFreeman

At least it's only one. There are some locusts who follow any Dev-Post throughout almost all forums to spread their "most important of all issues in the game" at each and any place, no matter if connected to the thread the furthest or not at all.
And your whining jedi relates to a longstanding crafting bug that's being discussed in the tailor forum, how?

Now *I* am getting off-topic, but please remember that the way to deal with off-topic or inappropriate posts is to use the "report abuse to a moderator" link on the bottom right corner of the message. The mods are here to help, but they can't be everywhere at once, so we can do our part by alerting them to posts we find to be questionable.
Having experience in working with large code projects I can understand how one small module can cause a problem that effects many systems. I can even understand how hard it is to track it down to a once or two lines of code or even a condition. So Kudos to the Devs if this is finally the fix that Tailors, Armorsmiths, Droid Engineers and BioEngineers have been waiting for.
But like many others I have issue with the silence of any status on the work being done on the problem. Granted we got updated but it took amonth after it happened to hear thatwas being worked on then nothing till now that a fix looked to be in the works. Updates do not need to be made on every bug issue that is working as some are just minor and not gamebreaking for a profession. But it would be nice if the Devs could supply the respective correspondents with updates more often with major issues such as this. I am sure that this would goa great deal to customer satisfaction in that they would then knowa reasonable status of the work being done or the stage of a possible fix.
However, as I said Kudos to the Devs if this fixes the problems. Can not wait for the hotfix so can try it out and get back to BE Clothing orders that I have backed up.

but how come this bug came up after the combat upgrade... i thought the combat upgrade had to do with upgrading combat and not down grading crafting...
forget i said that...
I hope the fixes are done soon. Good luck to you guys BE/Tailor/AS/WS/DE you ALLLLLL need some serious lovin from the devs.

We have finally identified the cause of this bug.
In certain cases some types of crafting data was being "lost" in the process: and this impacts the armorsmiths and tailoring the most (but I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't been causing a few other oddball crafting problems here and there as well).
We're planning on a hotfix to be delivered to you between publish 21 and publish 22.
so 2-3 months?

It turns out that "collecting a list of systems impacted by this change" is an impossibly large task: By the time I finished doing it, you'd already know.
So make sure if you're a programmer to document your code! And make sure the people using your fuctions know what types the input and output variables are declared as.
It would also be a good idea to find out who else has been using this function, as they may have been getting back the right type, but now fixing/changing it might effect the results they're recieving.
Sorry Tailors, I don't think my post is very fitting for your forum.
Aye, it is... for I be a programmer and I know it must hurt trying to find these bugs.

Do you guys do unit level testing on your code? You would think a utility class or function would have a set of boundry conditions, known inputs and known outputs and could run unit tests on these functions to verify they are working correctly.
No, I don't think so.

Asking again... do you think that the bug is causing lag?
It just seemed really, really slow when loading items into the slots...

I know we're getting off-topic here but I was having very bad crafting tool lag until I defragmented my hard drive. It really helped.
