Discussion here = verboten! This is for voting. Dangit, you know I can't add.

Take it to the Schematic information thread or start a new thread pleeeeease... for my sanity.

I think we have gotten a little lazy, and are used to pumping out clothes for people as fast as we can. I recall the number of people threatening to quit when it seemed tailor experimentation was going the way of the dodo (yeah it didn't really work but it was the principal).

"Why can't my clothes be better if I want to spend the time on them?" was the popular opinion.

With the BE components working we could finally make things better. A chance ofexperimentation would add to that. Some kind of time-based decay would of course be required. Maybe also the chance of higher than four sockets or larger capacity backpacks.

What scares me is the fact that I pride myself on my work, and ANYONE can, in 2 days, make the EXACT same quality clothes I can make. That scares me to death to know, that there is no 'best' tailor. I wouldn't mind putting in 10 times the work into my profession that I take TONS of pride in to make better clothing, even if it is just to make them last through more deaths than someone else's clothing.... Not like we'd need "armorsmith quality" hides.... All we'd need is decay resistance, and maybe OQ...but Decay Resistance would be the main one....

Anyone can make the same clothes that I can with very little effort, but I would hope that I would be better at coming up with an entire "look" that goes together and customizing it for things like the customer's build, skin tone and eyes than someone who doesn't have much experience. You make a good point, though. If the stats that are important to us are not the same as the ones that other professions need, then it makes it much easier for us. But unless you are just cranking out black dusters and things like that, I am sure you are a much better tailor than most people who have been grinding for 2 days.

My only real experience with experiementation is from making tissues for our tailoring business. I work very hard to get the best materials and I think I am producing very good tissues right now (+17, +18 and sometimes +19 for tissues to use in RFPs). The problem is that I do not have very good combat skills and I have to rely on the kindness of friends and guild mates to get some of the meats and hides that I need. Even so, they sometimes decide to sell to other people instead of helping me. I can't blame them. Some people in the richer classes offer them millions of credits for a nice stack of these resources. I can not afford to pay these prices to compete because 1) I don't really have the money to pay that without hardship and 2) I would never make a profit since no one would pay the prices for the final clothing that I produce to make this worthwhile. I want to make sure that at least for tailoring that the resource prices stay reasonable.

I am deeply INSULTED that experimentation was taken away from us and now we are given it back for items we don't even use.

Why not try giving us the working decay we were supposed to have? Why not let us experiment on that?

Only 4 pages with thousands of tailors on all the servers... This is not a true poll. I for one am looking forward to making money on something. I say we keep it. This game is about relying on each other. I like what the devs are trying to do. They did this with chef requiring tailor and bio components. Now they do this with AS. Dont you guys get the point? TEAMWORK. You must get something from someone else. I love this concept we need to keep this component.

I'm a recent master tailor and having a hard time getting descent business. The Devs added a component we can generate money off the armorsmith and u made a poll to keep/remove it. WTH?

ok .....here is my BIG PROBLEM with the way things work here at SWG...

I am a master tailor....i just gave up most of armorsmith last month but still have 3 boxes....

I try to make the wookie armor but cant because for the life of me i cant figure out what the F is a padded segmant...i though it was some bio coponment or something...

Then now nearly a week later i stumble into this forum and find out that not only could i have made this as a tailor but that there was VOTE going on about whether or not i can continue to make it or not.

Now i am not upset about the vote in general.,..i dont care one way or the other....i am just getting really tired of how information is dissimenated and how issues are decided ...

i just should not have to read 30 froums to figure every little thing out....it just would have been nice if i was alerted in the patch notes that the wook armor took a NEW component made by tailors.
