I typed an explanation for that macro, but it wouldnt let me submit it with the macro

I thought it would make more sense if you could see the complete command for each step of the macro.

Go to your Abilities, New Macro. Put the name of your macro in first box at the top, chose any icon. And type that macro in larger box.

Click the bottom of your Toolbar, drag it to make a second row. Your macro icon goes in the F1 slot on top row. And your 5 crafting tools go on F4 slot on top row, and F1-F4 on bottom row.

For people new to macros, the toolbar numbers may seem off, but that is because they start with F1 as toolbarSlot00.

To find the Schematic u want to macro, open your Datapad, Schematics, and count off from top left to right, only the items craftable by your crafting tool. If you still cant find the correct number, open your crafting tool to first stage (before u select an item) and type /selectDraftSchematic ## until you find the right number. Remember, some items are only available when next to a crafting station, so if u find the number while you're next to one, it might not be the same number later.(This happens in Med grinding, not sure about tailor)

If you get the message 'crafting session has ended' twice in one session, then you are too close to a craftin station, or someone near you has a personal experimenting droid out.

Hope this helps. By the way, no im not a tailor.. lol

OK, i have spent the last hour doing different things trying to get this to work. I have the right schematic, i put the crafting tools in the 2nd row of functions, but i am not selecting resources and i am not getting any xp. In the last post for the macro idid it exactly that way and added the ( to the end of each line to get the macro to restart, however as i said it is not giving me a option for resources or giving xp

Any help would be appreciated

Hmm.. all i can think is, make sure the capitalization is correct on all commands. And that you have a semi-colon after every line ofcommands, it wouldnt let me have the semi-colons when i posted that macro, sorry i forgot lol. Or that its the wrong Schematic number and u dont have those resources on you atm, so your not getting the option to click them?

If it's skippin over the option to click on the resources, maybe it needs a longer pause, change /pause 4 to 5 or 6. ? Also if u dont click on the resources in time it will just close out and go to next tool.

That's the macro I have used for MANY different proffesions, so i know it works.. lol. Dunno what else to say.. except play with it, til u get the hang of it.

i get strange messages with my macro. i placed the icon in F1 slot and the crafters in slots F5 - F12. Is this correct? Above macro is different from the one black made by the way, which one do we use? But my main question is this... I emptied out ALL slots, even after they were blank and re-did them. I get very strange messages in mine...

This crafting session has ended
This crafting session has ended
there is no such chat sel 46
you are no longer dancing
(sits)
(Stands)
(kneels)
you begin to survey...
This crafting session has ended...

etc..

ok, I KNOW I dont have those written in there, and I checked to make sure what I wrote was accurate. Am I just bugged or something? I wasn't dancing or anything like that before I tried this. I wasnt near any cantinas, main craft stations or anything. Can someone help me?

Ok, been messing with the tailor macro for about an hour and a half now...I'm actually not even doing it for a holo, I just want to be able to get to the "cool stuff" so I can actually start having fun with it.

Here's my problem...I guess it's supposed to do the "crafting session has ended" thing but it's spamming my chat window with empty messages! No idea why it's doing that, but I'm driving my guildmates crazy. Anyone know?

As to afk macroing... people are getting confused because they are using it to mean two diffrent things

What Jeassa ment by afk macroing being ok for exp grinding was if you use the INGAME macro system, it has always been ok to afk macro.

Whats not ok is to AFK macro using a 3rd party program. That is againts the TULA and is the only way to grind as a crafter since you need something outside the game to double click the resources for you.

So for anything other than crafting afk macro like crazy if you want

To find the # of your schem., count only the items that can be made with that crafting tool (i.e. clothing tool, structure tool, food & chem tool). Start left to right top to bottom. This may not always get you the exact number, due to somethings only being able to be crafted in you are near a crafting station, but it will usually get you close. Once you craft something, look at your data pad and see where that object is listed then either add or subtract numbers till you get the right one.

Ok, this is nuts... I got Field Wear IV, nothing else in tailoring & want to know what the schematic number is for cartridge belts. I've wasted enough time trying to find out how to make this STUPID macro work when I could have gained a level or two just by doing it by hand.

Anyone out there care to help? When I think I'm close, I keep getting "Crested Battle Padding" regardless if I increase the number higher.

Try this article. Cartridge belts may require a personal crafting station and therefore you'll have to use the "crafting station compatible" version, at the end of the document.

I'm pretty sure that they don't need a crafting station at all.

Hmmm I think you're right. I don't make them, to be honest - belts look like hula hoops and most customers just don't want em.
