This is hands down, flat out, the coolest thing I've seen for crafters yet.

You might want to talk to SWGcraft.com and see if they'll put it up for you. Or you might want to get a domain and an ad banner. Could you be talked into making something for artisan items and furniture? Heck you could probably make a site off of nothing but calculators.

I'd kick out some money for that.

Even if not, you rock!

maybe i'm slow in understanding...but i see the 5 fields after price for whatever resource you use, regular resources, and i'm wondering, what about items that don't use those? you can't set them to 0...so like i said, unless i am slow in the head (which i may be) i kinda don't understand the calculator.

ok....after looking a little closer, i think i have it...you're adjusting all the fields just so you can have a price chart across the board, yes? you aren't using the calculator to figure out prices for individual items, though you could if you liked...

Hey I like the calculator and all, but crunching in the numbers I charge way WAY too little for everything.....I better fix that.

I do have to wonder about the logic of some folks. I mean, really.

Why would you set your skill modifier to 1? This means you're working for free.

In the real world, a 3x mark-up over cost is considered the minimum to cover overhead and make a living. You still have to pay for factories, havervesters, houses and vendors... so you do have those overhead expenses, too!

And this just gets you to a wholesale price. Don't forget to divide by .6 to get a retail price. Then, you can give up those merchant skills and just find another merchant to carry your product for you.

If you are really bugged by another crafter underselling you all you need to do is buy their stock yourself and resell it at a higher cost.

That way the original crafter gets a 'fair' price (by their own definition) and thereafter is out of the loop by all rights since you now have free and clear ownership of said wears. Many of these folksclaim a) they are holier than thou for not 'gouging' people (which really means they think everyone should play their way) OR b) they claim everyone should be able to play any way they want and that includes their pricing (and by extensionought the pricing by the reseller). In either case the reseller need not heed any complaints from the original maker because a) claims of goughing are just plain silly since people don't NEED anything we make and therefore are not compelled to buy from 'gougers' and b) would be purely hypocritical to claim the resellers isn't playing fair since all are entitled to play the way they see fit.

The reseller gets a 'fair' price by their definition IF the customers on that server agree that your prices are fair as indicated by purchasing the marked up goods. This is a win-win scenario and any hard feelings the original maker has are so much sour grapes.

Complaining about high and low pricing is just an exercise in rhetoric because the clientelle are the ones who really set the prices. Something about supply and demand if I recall.

that is so beyond cool

I don't get what the factory thingy does for it though. I wasn't sure what to put in for that and it really effected the price. I factory out everything so.....

If you would give me persmission I would love to mirror the script on my server with a link to your giving you mad props. So in case yours was ever down or you wanted to take it down or something it would still exsist.

I could be wrong...I've not looked at it in a while but... I do believe at the bottom the designer advised they were no longer playing SWG. I would imagine they are no longer reading the boards, either.

Sorry, but I keep seeing questions to the designer for adding this or doing that. This tool is wonderful and has so helped me, but I don't think there will ever be any updates or changes.

Be Well.
