Thread: Tailor Price Calculator
I did notice though that you have Formal Gown listed in Formal Wear 2 and Formal Wear 3.
There is only a Formal Gown in Formal Wear 3.
This really is an awesome device...thank you very much!
The prices were very close to what I charged.
However, there are two factors I had put into my pricings and weren't available on the calculator, and I saw a couple posts regarding them. 1) I factor in number of different components. Items with two or three components are relatively easy and quick to make, items with five or six may require getting more resources. 2) Availability. I factor in if I need a crafting station or not. Typically I fill custom orders on the spot. Sometimes I can't because I'm not at a crafting station. So, I put a modifier in for that as well.
Not knocking the calculator, 'cuz it in fact rules, and I'm gonna use it and just modify a couple of the prices. Which is smart anyway, because as we all know there are some popular items, and it only makes sense to charge slightly more for the very popular items.

I think this thread deserves a bump, this is a really great calculator, and i follow it'sdefault for all my items.
I only wish it would add the basic artisan cloth too.. maybe in a future version?
Oooh I just looked back through the pages and found this while looking for pricing!
Now to be honest, I'm new and I suck at math, and I am not sure what the materials are worth.. or what is considered reasonable.
Are the default numbers on the page reasonable?
Is it possible for someone to go through it and tell me what numbers to put where to get a decent outcome for profit without being extremely expensive?
I would REALLY appreciate any help anyone could give me
Thanks!
Yeah, absolutely, I'm loving it too! And like several people have already said, I fed in mycurrent set of rules of thumb, and came up with prices that are also substantially close to what I charge. (7 cr/unit, minor modifiers for factory components, no skill level modifiers - except for Master, which I'm stilla day or two short of - and ridiculous overcharges for hard-to-obtain or little-used resources.)
But I do have two minor suggestions and one difficult request. Minor suggestions first, of course.First of all, could you add in the Artisan clothing, too? Secondly, would you consider also making the factory component prices text entry fields instead of popups?
Then I have one request that you may or may not want to consider, because it'd be a little bit more of a coding hassle: a round off feature, where you round off to the nearest multiple of that however many credits? And if the resulting price was 0, put a floor under it of the multiple? Customers seem to prefer prices that round off to the nearest 50 or 100.
THANK YOU!
I'd been wondering if I was charging anything even remotely close to what other people might be doing. Husband is an architecht, so he's no help. So, I'll go through tonight, update things, and see who ends up wanting what!

What's interesting to me is no matter what values I put in, the numbers pop up prices that are substantially lower than I charge on the lower end items and much higher than I charge on the higher end items. I guess my current prices are all kinda middling.
Nice work.
