Thread: With decay comes underpants: discuss

I findasking devs forfurther development (e.g. fashion police) on the affects of death decay a bit odd as we wish for use-item decay. It would be like we encourage the devs on the paththeywent. I would prefer asking for the use-item-decay like armor does with fighting. Its an already used system so not very hard to implement for clothing.
I can't speak for everyone who's posted in this thread, but I get the feeling most of these suggestions were meant as jokes. I know my fashionWarn suggestion was one—I mean really, is my tailor/image designer/merchant going to attack someone? C'mon.
I also suggest we would ask a one time reset for 0/0 clothing to somethinglike 100/100so people can be more careful with theirstuff. Even beside the pointof the value ofSEA's, thIs our clientele that will be confronted with a new system and if they have 0/0 items (valuable or not) they cant do something about it. If they get a basic reset (not back to full value) than people can act accordingly to the new rules and not suffer consequences of something that didnt exsist before. (like we suffer the consequences of the socket change)
I'm not too keen on reseting clothing—it was pretty obvious this was a bug, and those who chose to use it to their advantage deserve whatever they get.
No decay for special items like a wookiee life day garb would be good too.
That I'll agree with. The Wookiee Life Day Robe should be treated like the SE goggles and the Geonosian Rebreather.
Further moreI would ask for"more"valueof wearingclothes. (a lot of thingsismentioned already):
- More different types of tissues
- Tissues stacking in every sort of clothing so BIO-wear can be fashionable too
- Tailor-made "tissues" such as Leather/metal pieces that can be stacked in clothing giving defense or resist bonusses (just an wild idea).
-Equiping backpacks that not show
Most of this has been asked for—except the defensive-bonus clothing (I assume you mean AR0 clothing with certain damage-type resists.) The way I understand it, this has been suggested but was not popular with the community.
If we really want some love as tailors, i think it benefits us more to represent our clients and not alienate them (altho Ismiled atthe heartfelt reactions on this thread). Because we are only a small community and they are 80% of the SWG-community. Their support will help us more to get what we want.
This may sound incredibly negative, but they've yet to support us on anything. Every time a proposed change is listed by some dev and they don't like it they come running to us to ask/bully/guilt us into asking it to be changed, but they never come to support us on any positive changes (there are a few notable exceptions, but this is a generalization, so it'll be a bit inaccurate.) The fact is we've heard these whines before when decay was first put in, and I still don't see people walking around in their undies. Let them threaten; most of the ones that do aren't the ones that I want business from anyway.
I dont support however all the SEA remarks. Armor decays and so does armor SEAs. I dont know if the bonuses work after 0/xx but wearing a 80% adv comp chest plate at 0/xx is dieing a lot of times in fighting so useless in fact. The SEA's accordingly would be pretty useless due to that.
SEAS in clothing shouldnt be treated differently from SEAS in armor or the whole system should be revamped. And thats not the job of an AS or Tailor but the SEA wearing community.
And it belongs in Core Systems, as evidenced by Jeassa moving a thread about it there. But you're right, the entire system is borked and needs fixed—it's just that here isn't the place to discuss it.
My 2 cents (but hmmm...by the look of the lenght of this posting, it might be 3 cents)

Hmmm.
I really only have one question. Overall, I'm ALL ABOUT people's clothes wearing out and having to be replaced... I have a number of items myself that I will need to have replaced when this happens. My concern is with my nightsister armpiece. It's 0/97 (there was really never any hope for it) and if I can't wear it after publish 10, I'm going to be just a TAD bit unhappy.
I wish they had a way to make rare loot drops exempt from this... the armpiece was a gift, so I didn't pay money for it, but it makes me want to cry to think of a 4 - 8 million credit item being reduced to NO value whatsoever.
That's odd—my Nightsister bicep has yet to actually decay. I got it in trade from a friend, and it was obviously at reduced condition, but in all the deaths since I've acquired it it has yet to reduce in condition any further. I know a few friends who have them and they've reported the same behavior. Was your 0/* when you got it?
