Thread: Poll: Sockets, experimentation, decay

No one complains about armour attachments now, so why are clothing skill tapes any different just because we have benefitted from them since the beginning?
Because there are 3 armor items that don't decay—the Mabari Belt, the Ubese Armor Shirt, and the Ubese Bandolier. Those of us with pricey armor attachments are likely to have them socketed in one of these items (I've got the belt and bandolier) so that our investments aren't ruined…until they fix that. *shrugs*

Hi Phetro,
Would you prefer that tailors all got fed up and chose not to follow the class? Perhaps the armoursmiths won't mind having to take Fieldwear 2 so they can make your armour, but they might find it hard to get if no other tailors are in the game. And forget about good wookie armour. The wookie pillows need a master tailor to get the best experimentation results.
We are not asking for much. We are asking that (as any other item) when clothes reach 0 condition, they are done. Repair them to make them last longer, but they were never designed to last forever. our request for use-based decay would also include that death-based decay be adjusted accordingly. I don't know about you, but I can't wear the same set of jeans or shoes for 6 months straight and expect them to be in good condition.
Armour decays, weapons decay, and clothes were supposed to decay.
No, I don't want tailors to suffer either. I wouldn't even mind use-based decay, but implementing it IN THE GAME'S CURRENT STATE would be a nerf to all, as good skill tapes are nearly impossible to come by.
Yes, clothes should decay. What I'm saying is, you shouldn't ask for that unless you also stress that skill tapes should be removable. That would nerf everyone that uses skill tapes, and that's an awful lot of professions.
And I really don't see tailors losing business. As I said before, my wife is one, and she gets TONS of repeat business. People will always want new, different clothes. People like to change their look every once in a while, if not more often.
Hear what I'm saying--I'm not saying to deal with things as they are, I'm saying if you're going to ask for a fix, make sure you think about how everyone else will feel, and make sure you word your request ina way that removes all doubt as to whether you're asking for a nerf to the entire skill tape system or not (as if skill tapes need to be nerfed, as broken as they are).
