Now that I am starting to get into a bit more complicated crafting, I have some new questions.

1. As a combat class, I never had need for a house. Well I have one now, and what is the point of declaring my residency?

2. What exactly type of factory am I looking for to buy for tailoring?

3. Are there any items like droids or crafting stations I can put in my house for tailoring? If there are stations, do architects sell them? (I can guess if there are droids I think I know where to get them lol).

Once again guys, you have been super helpful.

1) a small or medium house takes up 2 lots and has 150 units of storage. This is a good place to store your gear and put a vendor. Declaring residency in a town makes you a citizen able to vote (and the town can grow with more citizens). If you put your house in a town, you will be taxed, whether or not you declare residency. You may need permission to move into a town. Always ask your neighbors before moving in, even if not in a town, and if in a town, ask about taxes and rules before you set down roots.

2) wearables factory. It takes up 1 lot. Once items are finished they sit in the output hopper which stores 100 items. Don't take out the crates until you want to use them - once an item is taken out of the output hopper it cannot be put back in. This technique will save you storage space in your house.

3) A crafting station is made by an architect and you put it in your house, and there it stays. Check the functionality rating, it should be around 30-45 for a good station. Avoid ones with negative ratings like the plague

Droids are made by droid engineers and tehy can have crafting stations in them. These are useful for a tailor on the go b/c they can be whipped out of your datapad anywhere that a pet can. They can also be used in houses. However, they require batteries if you drag them around a lot (make them move, etc). They don't go thru batteries very quickly if you just take it out, craft, and put it back.

The crafting station that you are closest to controls. So if someone else whips out a medical crafting droid near your station it may "override" your station or droid. If you are having trouble accessing your schematics, go closer to your own crafting station, or move away from other droids with your droid.

Trust me dude, tailor will be so much fun once you hit novice.

If you are wanting to grind, do ribbed shirts up to field wear IV, then do cartridge belts for the rest. I have a great crafting macro if you want me to give it to you. You can grind about 7 shirts in about 30 seconds, which is great xp. Ribbed shirts take 30 fiberplast and 30 metal, so start savin up now. Cartridge belts take I believe 30 fiber, 30 metal, and 20? inert petrochemical? Someone may need to back me up on that one. Anyways, good luck going tailor, and I hope you have a great time doing it.

If you have any questions, I saw you had a char. on Bloodfin, my char there is Starqueshia, so send me a tell if you need anything.

Yeah, I would love to have a macro

Yeah, I need to get a bigger chemical harvester for my fiberplast.... tailoring eats that stuff up. I am starting to feel the money pinch badly now. What's a good way to get money right now? I mean I can do around 1500 per survey mission on coronet. Slow going and I am not selling much of my stuff, but I am starting to advertise. Any info is always great guys

Go to dantooine and join a group, and you will get tons of cash, while gettin many hides too.

here is the macro. If you get confused, just ask me and I'll explain it to you. The draft schematic should be around 56 for you, but open your datapad, go to draft schematics, and count left to right all the items you can make in the tool you are using until you get to ribbed shirt, and put that in the /selectdraftschematic part.

you can just copy and paste this to a macro. If you go to options and open your keymap, you can set a key for paste:

Have 7 clothing crafting tools in the Shift+F3-F9

This one goes in the Shift+F1 slot:

Yea, in that macro, all you have to do is click on the resources and it does everything else automatically. Also if you are wanting to go afk sampling all night heres a macro for that:

/sample;

/pause 4;

/stand;

/sit;

/pause 24;

/stand;

/pause 1;

/sample;

/ui action toolbarSlotXX (xx is where the macro is on your toolbox. It starts at 00 at F1, andgoesleft to right.)

One more nice thing about factories, they can have an output hopper filled with crates of goodies, but you can load anything into the input hopper. so sor 1 lot, they are better than houses for storage. Load 'em up!

For making money...? Come on, you're a crafter. Sell your stuff! Basic black always sells. Put some swoop helms, dusters, cloaks, and things like that on the bazaar. sell for a few thousand creds per day. Look at what people have on, and you probably have a good idea what will sell. Depends on what skill tree you are working on.
