Thread: WARNING: Do not try to make BE clothing or cloth at this time!
Dakaraim wrote:So how new is this problem? Will BE clothing work that was made before XX/XX/XX(if anyone knows the exact date that this stopped working i would appreciate your post) date if you are to put something in the socket now?
And sockets are fine, clothing attachments are still working.

It really feels like they are making crafters' lifes' hell on purpose. What is this game turning into, a pure-combat related game, super easy, and forget the whole economy? Like WoW and whatnot? Yay. I wish they would start fixing all the issues with crafters, instead of focusing on breaking more that worked fine before. Then again, what happened to doctors/entertainers wasn't fun, either. But ah. Don't get me started.
I'm not even logging on swg much anymore, and if this continues I'll just quit.
Not that I'm any happier about the breaking of the tissues, but I gotta step up and say something postive for the Devs.
At FanFest, believe me, people were yelling long and loud about all the combat related content and no crafter related content. The ones that were there spoke of the fact that they were aware of the imbalance of the content and that it's in the works of doing more crafter content in the future.
They acknowledged that entertainers got the shaft big time with CU, and they are taking steps to fix that. As a doctor, I don't feel I got the shaft with CU and am in fact grateful that doctors aren't crafters anymore. I much prefer being out in the field doing my thing than friutlessly making buffs that are easily outclassed by the heavyweights on my server, and I hated buffing for the general public (There are a BUNCH of idiots out there).
This bug will be fixed, and hopefully soon. While I'm not impressed with the lighting 'fix' (I actaully thought it was intended orginially - Renewable income for archs is a good thing!), I will say that they do fix a lot of bugs and that the new addtion of devs have really helped the game out a lot. We've just got to be sure that they are reminded of the fact that this IS profession breaking for tailors, which I'm sure Gyopi reminds them of when she can.
Some bugs are easy to figure out why they broke and easy to put in. Others are a little harder to figure out, like this one. I don't recall Publish 18 saying anything was being changed with BE stuff, does anyone else recall that? If there wasn't, then it seems it was broken as an unexpected side-effect of another fix, so they have to track down WHAT broke it, then figure out how to fix it.
I know things look bleak now, but I do ask that people hang in there. It's going to get better, you just have to give them time.

ugh ... I'm about 3 seconds away from cancelling my tailor alt ...
Already did til this bug is fixed
You say this based on...what? I certainly have no reason to believe that this is the case. Look at the facts:
- They knew these bugs were there and chose not to fix them prior to releasing publish 18. The fact that we are playing the game now, with these bugs in there, was a conscious decision by the devs. I'm not suggesting that they intentionally sabatoged their code, but I am saying that they looked at the bugs that were in there, and decided that the game was better off with the content + bugs of publish 18 then without it.
- Their record of fixing bugs is positively horrible. Just take a look at the history of the tailor's top issues lists.Just as anexcercise, please name the last three reported tailor bugs that were fixed by the devs, and give the approximate time between the time they were reported and the time when they werefixed.
Off the top of my head I'd say:
- necklace bug, approx 1.5 years, fixed Fall '04
- 255 color bug, approx 6 months, fixed Winter '03
- And I can't even name a 3rd.
- We have more tailor bugs now they we did 6 months ago, and more bugs six months ago then we did 6 months before that, and... well, you get the picture. It's very clear based on their history, that not only is reducing bug count not a priority, but escalating bug count is perfectly acceptable, so long as the bugs are in the "right places".
- New content. If you were at fanfest, you know that they didn't even hint at any new content for tailors. They were asked very specifically about new clothing, fixing long standing problems etc. and their answers made it pretty clear that there was nothing in the pipeline. On the other hand, the very same devs went on and on and on about all sorts of new stuff coming out for combat, J3di, etc.
So I dunno, I suppose you can take it on blind faith that things will get better, but the facts and the history sure don't back that up.

*Ponders whether her factory crates of BE tissues will be actually fixed when they fix the problem or if she is going to loose a crap load of money that it took to buy resources and the making of the BE tissues*
You know this is probably the result of a patch/hotfix to fix BE profession... gotta love how fix one thing and break another... kinda reminds me of when they gave us experimentation for one dang clothing item.. wookie padding... and broke or intentionally broke our higher likelihood of getting 4 socketed clothing... used to get 4 sockets almost every other piece of clothing made... after wookie padding with experimentation you are lucky to get it in 3 tries... note that is with a clothing assembly +25, clothing experimentation +25 outfit on as well.
Three weeks to fix a major problem is rather pathetic seriously![]()

Personally I think its due to the experimentation confirmation changing, instead of getting a box to click on after experimenting you now get a system message.
Changing it wasn't really needed, without seeing the behind the screens stuff, so if that is the cause I shall be rather unimpressed.

I don't think that it's possible that a fix to the experimentation confirmation being taken out of game affected us or our bio tissues. The reason I think this is that I am master weaponsmith as well, and that was taken out for them, as well. Everything is working find with experimentation on that end. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I just don't get how it can screw up one profession by being taken out, but not another.
