WOW Aynanu I am soooo envious. How did you manage that many sales aday?

I am fairly new to Tailor about 2 months, and I am seriously disapointed with my Tailor sales.

I have 2 toons on bira and 24 vendors between them (6 of which are tailor) I make good credits from my Loot vendors and even my Spice dispenser.

But but Tailor Vendors just make me no credits- maybe you could advise me?

This is what a currently do:

I price all items at 2.5k-10k and i made factory crates so i have 2 of each colour of EVERY main item on the vendor.

AndI have in store

  • 1 vendor for tops

  • 1 vendor for bottoms

  • 1 vendor for hats, shoes etc

  • 1 vendor for BE 1 vendor for factory crates

  • 1 vendor for uniforms (imperial maninly)

  • 1 vendor for cloaks

  • and one for custom order pick ups

I advertise on the auction channel and I have a Ad barker droid at Theed starport (not that anyone can see what he's saying with the amount of spam)

and i sit in the local cantina getting orders overnight and make them the following day.

I have emailed all guild leaders i could find off the forum to do there tailor needs (only got 2 replies).

what more can I do? I love Tailor its a great prof, but when I make 100k a night for selling those damn loot kit parts and only 2500 for clothing its upsetting.

and to make matters worse 2 new master tailors have taken to standing OVER my ad droid spamming

Anyones help is appreciated.

As you said you are fairly new. it took me about 4 months to start getting serious buisness, after that it escalated at a scary rate.

1: You need a good location, on your server that could be near theed, near bestine, near anchorhead, near mos eisley etc. (im located roughly in between all three popular tatooine cities)

2: Advertising,

Merchant skill: Vendor advertising is vital. And more vendors the better (i had mine all put up at the same time, so when someone scrolls down the ctrl + v search to find a tailor vendor they had 9 tailor vendors in a row all with my name on it, it gives a proffessional look)

Bazaar: Use the Bazaar to throw on about 10 peices of clothing with your vendors waypoint in the tittle, to cover several clothing catagories in 1-2 different populated cities.

Cantina's: This gets entertainers to acknowlage your shop, very often entertainers find a good tailor and just stick with them, but they often look around and if your friendly to them, they'd rather have a friendly tailor they know, so they are likely to check your shop out at least.

Barker Droids: Waste of time i think, but its another option if you have all the above done and still not much luck.

3: Presentation in store:

Decor: Well decorated store may bring people in just to see the decorations, chances are they will at least browse your vendors before leaving, if you can create a place which is memmorable then people will want to return.

Vendors: Vendor Uniforms is something ive allways loved, altho i dont think its vital.

But Clothing is vital, you need to stock everything. In as many colours as you can. Hit the item cap be it 2750 or 4000. (2750 i never found enough)

Label the clothing in an easy to read format EG : Exotic Leotard [Mauve] - Black

If you have all that done, just give it time

I am wondering if being a big superstore may be part of the problem? Maybe people find something else to buy instead of clothes?

It takes a while to get your name out on your server. I have been playing for a looong time so my name is quite well known. I still post frequently on the boards, I have a couple of web sites and I try and think of different things to do to bring in new clients. Advertising and being creative is probably much more important for getting your name out there than anything else.

A'Srai and I have a cute little Christmas shop and stuff hasbeen selling like hotcakes. Once the first few people buy something, the word spreads pretty quickly and before you know it, all your items have sold. We got a wonderful compliment from a BE who tipped us another reindeer to put in our shop!

Hold parties or public crafting faires, fashion shows. It is important for any tailor to get their name out there. Most players seem to be loyal to one tailor and it can be difficult to break into the profession but it can be done.
