The more I think about it, the most it seems impossible now to move somewhere where there isn't any tailor shop, because there is starting to be more and more tailord around.

mmm, ain't nothing wrong with evil

as for a shop location, having tailors around doesn't necessarily mean bad business (but certainly having a bad tailor around might cause you some pain) i know of at least 5 more master tailors that have shops in kaadara, but my business is still decent.

hope everything works out for you though, if something like that happens again, you can post on your server board and make a big deal out of it. if these people are being jerks, they deserve to be known.

Another thing you can do if you have spare lots, or have a friend with spare lots, is to create a little "garden" around your shop with strategically placed micro flora farms (they are the best looking of the harvester lot)

I had to do this at one of my previous locations to keep inconsiderate people from planting huge, ugly ground humpers RIGHT on my doorstep. No joke. I logged in one day, stepped outside of my shop and there's this large mineral harvester right on my dang doorstep. How rude.

Well, their houses/harvestors/furniture have all been missing for a good few days now, ever since Eclipse crashed the other day.

I can still see his shop sign, but thats it. SO I don't know if he is really gone or not.

Its been a nice few days though anyways.

I meant to say houses/harvestors/factories

Not houses/harvestor/furniture.

I noticed that when I tried to place my shop over the weekend. I want to be close to town because pretty much no one is going to travel 4km out of town just to buy the same clothes that they can get just outside of town. My compromise was to go out about 1km from town, about 500m from the nearest tailor shop I could find. There is another large tailor shop on the way there (in a PA suburb) which has a full line of clothing and is a very nice shop, but incredibly expensive (I think a gunman's duster was around 10000 credits). I haven't been able to catch the tailor online to ask her about her shop, but I can only guess that she mostly wants to sell to her PA. Anyway, I hope that my shop can be a little custom boutique, which has prices in line with the rest of the tailors around (actually, I tend to be expensive compared to most others), but is not quite as convenient.

On Kettemoor, I'm a Master Weaponsmith and put up my shop just south of Coronet just after the game first opened. I put my house down (a medium at the time) and opened up a 'practice wares' shop where I sold my little tidbits I built as I was practicing. I didn't sell much, but the shop was there none-the-less. Many more shops began to pop up around me, of course... a tailor, a "mall", but no other weaponsmiths.

The more popular Weaponsmiths on my server were located outside of Tyrena or on Talus and Naboo, so I felt no real worries. I became a Master Weaponsmith and began to sell my wares. Within a week, the "Mall" next to me began to stock weapons from one of the more popular weaponsmiths (who had been selling out of Talus before). Then three more weaponsmiths, all masters and all running as "second shops" opened up within 100m from me. Rude, but you know what, I didn't really care.

Instead, I expanded and found a niche in selling something they did not -- slicer supplies. I sold crates of Molecular clamps, WUKs, CDEF Carbines and all sorts of materials that slicers use. All on one vendor and all, neatly, parked beside my Weapon vendor. My business soared.

I began to meet many smugglers who were becomeing slicers and/or Master Smugglers and began to make many deals with them, buying Clamp schematics and recommending business to them as people bought my wares -- I sell nothing pre-sliced. Again, my business continues to pick up -- the mall has gone out of business, and two other smiths don't bother to run Advertisement III anymore, which I do every morning promptly at 8am.

I've since also become a Master Tailor, as of this weekend, and now will begin to sell clothing. Am I doing this to rid myself of the tailor who opened up shop behind mine? Nope, but I will be pricing my items fairly and will run this as I would any business -- efficiently with a focus on customer service.

My point is this: Keep up your game. Run as you want to. Focus on customer service and enjoy yourself. Find a 'niche'... mine was selling quality weapons for good prices, not like the others who seemed to have gotten the "Master Pride" illness. I now have people return and come to me saying they don't care what the other people make -- they want my brand.
