Zelissa,

I feel your pain. This past week someone set up their shop right next door to me as well. Oh well what can you do? I did my best not to be right near other tailors, but I guess not everyone takes the time to do so.

Also...I tried to /report Nell. It gave me the message that the player's name was not valid. I don't even know if he put the harvestor up himself, or if it was his friend Watkins...so how do I know who to report?

If it's any help: personally, I wouldn't shop at any store that advertised in that way ("Don't shop there, they suck"). I really don't think I'm the only one, judging by the attitudes of my customers -- SWG has a pretty high population of mature players, and they tend to vote with their credits, rather than the names on their harvesters... *grins*

Sigh...such maturity.

Can someone please give me advice? Is that not considered harrassment? I already put these jokers on ignore and banned them from my shop.

That is definately harassment. You said that "nell" wasn't a valid player name, but maybe they're using a shortened version of their name for their shop?

Anyway, report in and of itself doesn't really do anything. It just stores about 100 of the last lines of your chat window. After using /report you have to start a ticket (or add on to your one existing ticket if you've got a ticket going) mentioning the incident and saying that you used /report.

Start a customer service ticket (through the holocron, ctrl+h) - I think there's even a category for harassment - and explain in the ticket where the harvester is and what it says. The CSR response time has picked up considerably lately, so you'll hopefully hear something in a day or two. At the very least, the CSR can probably change the name of the harvester. The player who placed it should at least get a warning. But I'm not sure how they handle things like that.

I don't think that kind of childish name calling will deter many of your customers, they'll probably sympathize. Good luck!

If anyone wants to see it, I took a screenshot. It is kind of funny, in an "I feel sorry for these people" way.

Well I'm 2 for 2 now.

Way back in beta, I was a novice tailor and loved Naboo. Moenia was pretty much my home so when the game came out I became a tailor and thought it would be great to have a shop close to town.

Well, with the power gamer tailors that grinded their way to master there ended up being 2 masters with shops in Moenia that I knew of and alot more masters around the area that I didn't really know much about.

The time came for me to put up my shop and I wanted to stay in Naboo because quite frankly, I love Naboo. So, I thought "I'll put it up in Kaadara" At this time there were several shops already in Kaadara that were to the east of town, so I traveled west. I scouted the area and checked out all of the other structures that were built, alot of which were just homes.

So, I put up my new shop. I was the only one there in that area that had a tailoring shop. A month or two went by and I started to notice more homes coming into the area. One of which ended up belonging to one of the master tailors that had already had a huge successful shop in Moenia. Her NEW bigger shop was so close to mine, that if I were standing in my doorway, I can it. /rolleyes "Great" I think to myself...meanwhile on the other side of me more houses and even a PA that turn into having shops really close to me also.

I am in a PA and always wanted to be in business w/the other tailors in my PA. We decided on Coronet because it is closer to our PA. My tailor friend and I scout the area far and wide. We found one shop and ran completely in the other direction because I do not want to close to any competition what-so-ever. We decide on a location and have been there for awhile. A few days ago I am running to the shop and see on my overhead map a vendor to an outfitters shop that again, if I were to stand outside my shop - I can see it. /shrug Maybe I am starting to take this game alittle seriously, but common' PLEASE STOP and be considreate to those that are already there!!! Sorry, I had to rant...

Here are my suggestions:

1) Go into the 'mall' go up to the vendors and look at the names of the the creators of the wares.. look for something that matches closely to this 'Nell'.

2) Once you have the character's name CALL customer service and voice a complaint. Also at the same time chronicle other past and future offenses that happen. And be sure to /report for any sneeze of offense they send in your direction.

Crap like that is banable.

A CSR logged in near the spot I reported the harvestor being at, but it was already gone. I don't know who took it down--CSR or owner. The CSR told me to let them know if it happens again.

I figured out their names--Nell and Watkins, and I think Nellewel might be an alt of Nell's. I think it said player name unvalid because Nell wasn't on at the time.

Thanks Vandessa, I will follow your advice.

I had another neighbor send me a tell thanking me for having the offensive harvestor removed (even though I don't know if it was my complaining that got it removed for sure.) The neighbor was very nice and supportive.

I'm going to give you my bit of advice, although it's not the stand and fight your territory advice. If they don't quit and you get no help from the csr's, I would say scout out another place and get your friends to help you move. Make sure you email all your true and loyal customers of where you move, put your house on a planet and near a town that makes you happy.

I have stores on 3 planets. I had vendors in friends stores. I was in alot of places, I have moved 100's of clothes from store to store, recreating vendors etc. etc. etc. its not too hard to do, just time consuming.

If you don't have the plots, get a freind to put up a house for you then transfer over when you reclaim your old house.

Why am I suggesting this?

1. those people are buttheads, and they get a rise out of hurting you.

2. close = association, some people just don't like to deal with conflict including your customers, they might actually deter clients or future clients from both your businesses because they are conflictual.

3. Game=fun, this is not fun for you, this is ruining your game, it is not fun to log on and wonder **edit** this azzholes did today to tick you off, it isn't worth the fight.

4. You can be happy somewhere else, and not worry about them anymore. Distance = forgetting.

5. Your loyal customers/friends will find you if you move. I moved my base of operations to a different planet, people travel planets all the time, they will come for your service.

6. Not all people are guild people, but if you could find a good and kind guild that matches your playing style, they would help protect you from events like this.

I wish you good luck in whatever you decide. Sometimes its very hard being a good and nice person. Its very nice to know people like you are out there, in this game.

/salute

Here is an evil answer to the option of retaliation. Most likely these dorks are factioned or they have faction clientel.

Get someone or purchase yourself some factional covert scanners andcamp them near the entrance of the mall. Said scanner will not only locate coverts but will TEF them too So one imperial scanner and one rebel scanner should do the trick.

But then again.. thats evil.
