Yes, I'll use this as my "what I don't want" item, lol. I don't want anything where I'd be dragged to the bottom or some dungeon to make some new cool item for somebody else's benefit. Nor do I want anything like the Jabba/themepart stuff that makes me into a crafting machine.

I am ok with the idea of gaining faction schematics through recruiters in exchange for faction points though (but it should be tailors only that can get clothing schematics. The last thing I want is to be bidding a gazillion credits for them from some master TKA). If worst comes to worst I can always run inter-planetary delivery missions since I have no combat skills.

I know what you mean, I didn't mean that you had to go to a dungeon. I just meant that they come to you for the item. At any rate, I agree with only tailors getting schems.

They really should add faction specific clothes. Schems that you can buy from a faction recruiter, and that maybe only that faction can wear. It would be cool if they had some bonuses, like maybe a Rebel Hat that gave a certain skill mod, maybe you could choose from a small list of skill mods when you made this item. You could go further and the devs could develop faction missions to aqquire all the resources and comps to make these items.

Also, they could make Tailors involved with PVPers or people who like combat by making cool missions that involved us. Maybe one quest will involve going into an Imperial prison, but you need a disguise, only a master tailor can make the disguise. But first you have to run a bunch of mini quests to aqquire the parts to make the disguise. I think it could be really cool, and really easy too. (to add I mean)

Er…didn't we already have a problem with the schematic rewards from Jabba's/Factional Theme Parks because of the rare components? Do we really want to encourage more of this sort of "enhancement" to our profession?

What do you see as the tailor's role in the GCW?

**faction uniforms [specific to the faction colors/styles]

**faction chest/armpatches w/ rank status[can be sewn on to [nearly] any shirt/jacket, only by a tailor]that can only be worn by those who have achieved that rank. This could quite possibly help increase 'some' players to work harder for their factions because we all know how 'looking cool/being cool' is a huge draw for many individuals.

**faction back packs

**decorative personal faction banners/ flags that can be used by players and placed in camps/outposts & other buildings

**decorative faction 'saddles' for mounts, with clearly visible faction indicator patches/badges

**faction sashes

What do you see the role as now, and what would you like that role to become?

Currently, there is no specific role. Would like to be able to be dependent on for the items mentioned above.

What specifically do you want to be able to do for your faction (that you can't currently do, or you want to see enhanced)?

Would like to be able to design the items mentioned above.

What do you not want to do?

No looted schematics. No schematics with difficult or obscure ingredients/components.

Any additional comments??

To reward those tailors who go above and beyond the call of duty to their faction [and this should be completable by both the fighting tailor and the 'crafter only' tailor], there should be one schematic item classified as 'uber' or 'super highend'. This schematic should be available only to those with a superiorfaction rank, should obviously be purchasedwith fp, aspossibly be a limited-use item [withcommon, easyto find ingredients]. This would keep both the fighting tailor and the craft tailor constantly involved with the war, working for which ever faction they align with, and would reward their commitment and loyalty with something really spectacular. I have no clue what said item could/would be [surely something other than the items I mentioned above], but I foresee it beingsome sort of item that is also only useable by those with equal superior rank.

Hey, it just hit me as to what that 'superior rank wearable' item could be...either some sort of ceremonial cape, or something akin to a robe of honor, something that can be worn over armor without hindering.

Caveat:

<--- not a tailor, just a M.Art / M.Arch who came over from the GCW thread.

Ideas:

Tailored clothing that gives a bonus to defeating scans -- intereference or shielding built in, or they're so "snazzy" they say "this is a VIP, don't hassle him."

Supplying synthetic cloth for some temporary factional "field" structures (as I posted in another thread). (aside: I can never find enough for my archi furniture!)

If you get schematics, they should be from "tailoring quests" requiring a minimum of combat. Because if you're like me, all your points are tied up in Merchant. (grrrr!)

Schematics could beFP purchaseableand for factional tapestries/rugs, etc. (or is that already in the game?)

A tailor role in GCW..

Must say apart from being able to provide uniforms,

I belive that personalization, specilalization, and taking a break from it all fall under what we do.

Sure alot of folks are on a 'side' but they still want to be themselves, personalization( i want more personalization myself, give me leopard stripes and polka dots!)

People want to be able to define their own roles through their look, specialization

and above all folks want to have fun, party, get married, flirt, and take a break from it all, how they look helps set this mood.

Faction specifics....

Uniforms, a must, outfit specifically for battle

give us insignias we can place on normal clothing as well as ranking symbol(and yes let it be worn by factional people of that rank only, I love the idea of I can wear it you can't )

Perhaps even visablee medallions, so the necklace itself can show your pride

Wookiees! Dangit they are in the war to, give us something that defines them as soldiers, combatants, fighters!

Definatly merchanting abilties for faction specific sales,

from adding tax against, discounts for, or denying personal sales alltogether for a faction,

this would GREATLY impact the GCW role of any merchant.

Everyone should have the right to say , "nah, I dont support that, find your wares somewhere else."

Nonos...

I really do not like the crafters haveing to seek out loot they can ONLY attain through fighters.

I would honestly like missions for crafters that reward us in what we need/want.

I would be most willing to go do a craft mission for a NPC if it earned me a new schem (even limited use) or a 'loot only' componant,

we need more options where stuff comes from, not just more stuff to find.

Additionals...

I am too concerned for my role in the GCW, but I am concerned of my role to the people.

crafters are the bone of any economy, but without the milk of the community we weaken.

I would like that we have more directional items,

more things for men, for entertainers, for doctors, for wookiees, crafters..each profession in turn, each gender and species..(chefs still strut their chef's aprons ya know...)

Basically more for lack of better word, costumes. I want folks to be able to dress their part (even no RP people scream for attention to a look)

Joining a side in a war involves some amount of risk. I am curious about what most tailors here feel is an acceptable amount of risk and what kind of rewards you would want in order to take that risk?
