LOL you guys must have some smart shoppers! I get people buying stuff that wasn't theirs on a regular basis, even in a pack that says *Customers Order* If I put individual items on my custom vendor one item of the order is almost certain to be purchased by the wrong person.

"At Kicky Fashions, the educated consumer is our best customer!"

(Anybody else remember those commercials? For the Syms clothing store, dunno, they were probably just local to DC, but that was their slogan.)

Best is to have an exclusive custom order vendor, in another room as your shop is in.

Heh. I do have a custom order vendor. Hidden (sort of) upstairs in the room with the smoked window in the large Tat house. He's tucked away in that alcove by the door to the hallway. He's surrounded by crates of travel packs (which are, of course, used for the custom orders and it's quite handy to have them stashed right there). However...

I was in a hurry and did not have enough space on myself nor in my house to drop a partially completedorder for a customer, and... I was in a hurry... so I just dropped some crates of SCs and RFPs into the vendor really fast to make enough room in my inventory to finish gathering the order I was working on (150 crates of trim). So while I was way across town getting the trim out of the factory, my mail suddenly starts dinging like a drunk leaning on a doorbell. Groaning, thinking one of my vendors just rolled over, I peeked...

An Armorsmith who'd picked up a custom order off that vendor before, had just snapped up ALL my crates of SCs and RFPs. Single units, full price (not the bulk pre-order price). Three full factory runs *poof!* Okay... now I had taken the time to list them with prices, granted, because just in case, someone wandered in and bought something... but sheesh! ALL of them? Those were going to be for my personal use, to restock the vendors. And this particular guy knew I did large orders only via email pre-order. Otherwise those crates would be on my main shop vendor down in the main room, yes? I got paid for them, yes. I just thought it was kind of rude when the guy knew that was a custom order vendor only and for all he knew, those crates were in there for someone else, whether they were in a pack or not.

Ah well. Lesson learned. Now while my factories are doing new runs for SCs and RFPs, and I bought two more factories just to keep up with the orders for trim, SCs, and RFPs (and lately fiberplast panels too, not sure what's up with that increase in demand) I am also placing yet another storage house just for crates in transition.

I wish every day for directed and consignment sales abilities. And more storage. Please, for the love of Yoda, let crafters and merchants have an increased storage ability of some kind. Special packs, or containers, or a building... something... please. Think of all the small houses that would vanish off the map if we didn't need them JUST to storeresources and crates!

I think i stop making custom orders when im not able to sell non-empty bags. How on earth should i deliver 10 bags of clothes? I live on custom orders, i have a special vendor for that purpose. Never had a problem, never had a complaint. Perfect solution.

I can't store the orders 'temporary' untill they come and get it. I have already three houses, and two banks full of my things. Besides that i can't stay all day online and around my shop to wait for customers to pick uptheir stuff.

I can't put it just in the vendor all in the open. People will mix up items, people like the same things a lot (decorative vests, sunguards, etcetc)

Does anyone of you already thought of a solutionforthis **edit**up? Because they will not listen to petitions on Tempest.

Build or designate a house specifically for a custom order distribution vendor and don't label it as such. Then put an entrance fee on the house. The entrance fee will act as a barrier to entry to entry for most players. When the custom order is complete email a waypoint to the vendor to the customer with a note that the entrance fee has been deducted from the purchase price. Also warn them that if they buy someone else's custom order they will be banned from future purchases.

Its not a perfect solution but its better than nothing.

You can hide a vendor inside a crafting station (hey, if you can hide *yourself* inside a crafting station, why not!)

Put a ridiculously high door fee on a special order house, and then just put people who have orders pending on the entry list so they don't have to pay. If someone ends up paying the door fee - that'll teach em!
