I hear ya, there's lots of different ways to do pricing, and I don't think that one way is "right" and another "wrong". When I put stuff on the bazaar with the sole purpose to make credits, I focus on the popularity of an item, and then use one years experience as a tailor to know what people will pay for that item. And I can sell stuff that requires almost no materials for 4k-6k and be guaranteed that it will sell within 48 hours. And on my vendor where I want to achieve popularity and respect, not necessarily credits, I price things very differently. But no matter how you slice it, c'mon, are you telling me that you think 10k is anything but an insult for 5 low cut tops and 5 hot pants? I don't care how you do your pricing.

You know, if I was in a cantina, and goofing off, and having fun, and somebody asked me nicely, particularly if they were an aquaintence, I might just make those swimsuits for nothing. Sometimes it's just about having fun and making others happy, cool, I have no problem with that. But if "some guy" came up to me and said "if you make 5 sets I'll pay you a whole 10k" I'd find it impossible not to see that as a real insult. I'd probably tell the guy to "get bent".

Thats the thing, "I was in the cantina goofing off and having fun and somebody asked me nicely" if I had wanted to make a huge money making deal then yes I would have charged more, but I didn't care. I mainly did it for the social aspect, especially since once of my close friends was dancing there. I spent the majority of the night in that cantina, I was just in there to make some quick cash.

I think the point we were trying to make is that people will "compare" tailors at the high end, not the low end, and use the fleshwrap (or leotard, etc) as a measuring tape between tailors. If you keep your high-end goods moderate within market values, but you raise your lower-end goods, you will make more money in the long run, because really at least I sell a lot more non-master items than master items, and because the customer believes he's getting a deal on every article of clothing because he only compares the top end items.

Ah, interesting! Hmm, that does make sense. I may try that Although right now, I honestly try to keep a low profile. High volume is definitely poison to me in my current state.

Oh, and I think the historical argument against charging low prices for master level items is that it is predatory against novice tailors. Novice tailors try to sell their items for a certain price and see masters with better color selections selling fancy master level items for less. But nowadays since novice tailors almost don't exist anymore with everyone getting so good at "power grinding" I suppose this logic no longer applies, lol.

Yeah, I remember, back in the day it was really rude to slap fleshwraps on the bazaar at 3k or something ridiculous like that, considering that the item was probably lower proportional c/p/u than anyone was charging for a flex form shirt, for example. As it stands now, with a straight c/p/u system, the master items are about double the comparable "low level item" (i.e. light bustier = 1250, low cut top = 2000). I think that's reasonable, and the resource costs provide "premium pricing" to some extent anyway.

And consider this: Suppose a leveling tailor and a master tailor charge the same for a flex-form shirt. But the leveling tailor has yucky colors and master tailor has nice colors. Shouldn't the master ALSO charge a premium on lower level items because of the increased color selection? Otherwise that's also taking business away from low-end tailors.

Absolutely, in fact I do that all the time. On the bazaar, say I want to sell a pleated skirt. There will often times be on the bazaar:

pleated skirt 1k <- noob: has no clue to list the color and makes it in some awful color that won't sell

pleated skirt 1k

so I'll put:

pleated skirt -white/navy blue4k

Guess which one sells quickest? lol
