At the very least, you should not incur an opportunity cost for any crafting skill. An opportunity cost, in this instance, is the difference between the market value of the materials you use to make an item and the price of the finished item. Selling for less than the value of materials undercuts you andyour fellow crafters, and does a disservice to the customer by setting them up for severe sticker shock when they see more realistic prices.

If that's your bag, do us all a favor, give up crafting and sell the raw materials instead. You'll make more money and supply the people who are trying to make an honest living at this.

1) My customers know that my prices are low...they know the prices elsewhere.
2) If people are new, I let them know thta my prices don't refelct the galactic market...or even regional for that matter.
3) I tailor for fun. I love having good looking clothes, and other people enjoy having good looking clothes.
I make enough money to live... I do the combat/faction missions for A) fun and B) to increase my skills.

I tried selling resources early on... didn't enjoy it too much...
I am making an honest living at this. I started Tailoring from day one...well, as soon as I got to the skill really, but I woeked for it from day one...
I sold my goods at comparable prices on the bazaar...I noticed alot of the high priced items not selling, so I lowered my prices until something sold...and I kept my prices where they were.

I just tailor for fun, and make enough cash to support a modest/borderline meager lifestyle...that's all. I want to experiance all this game and skill system has to offer...so i do some hunting to work on Pistol, some foraging to work on scouting, and some music to further entertainer...
Just having lots of fun doing everything really.

Actually, when I see anything on sale for less than 100 credits, including newbie artisan gear like simple shirts and casual shoes, I don't even bother reselling it -- I buy it and destroy it so the maker gets no UXP. If it's an auction, I'll bid it up to a more reasonable selling price. In one market, in one city, on one planet, in one galaxy, I'm doing what I can to help all Tailors make a decent profit.
