no. you fail to see. ok 1 tailor says no, no problem. but when you ask 5 tailors and they all say no something is wrong.

Well, I guess you have all the answers then. You've decided that a tailor should make you a schematic. You've decided what that tailor is going to charge you for that service. Now all you have to do is find that tailor. Good luck. I think by posting this here you just greatly reduced your odds of finding such a person.

On a brighter note, i may try doing some trim runs, and getting some flora resources together and seeing if a chef would do a schematic for brandy for me

I wont get my hopes up tho .

You mention that it is not in the game mechanics for chefs to make schematics for people, yet it IS for tailors to make schematics for chefs? does that not strike you as odd?

The game mechanics exist for both, yet the 'intended' way for both is to buy finished items from other crafters.

You making me a schematic for brandy is no less intended than me making you a schematic for trim, except the cost/time on brandy is higher. (and 20+ tries to get a good brandy schematic? i can only assume your exaggerating terriably, or doing something very wrong)

The only trim I make for other people is in guild these days.

I had two bad experiences. One where the person never would turn up to collect because the had made another deal that got it them quicker and never cancelled mine. The second I had to split the drop off over 6 days as the other party wasn't on when I was and it was too large to put on thier vendors at once (this player was nice tho just unfortunate circumstances).

Since then I just say no. Maybe if, like our correspondent said, you offered me something I want like a couple of crates of vecupi(sp?) for my trouble then I might do it for you

Just to clarify what some of the others are saying lets turn it around.

If I came to you and said "here's the ingredients make me the schematic for brandy experiemented all the way and I'll pay you 5k for your trouble" I seriously doubt if you'd take me up on the offer.

I think it was just a case then of finding the wrong tailor for the job. /shrug

Sorry you had such a bad experience, not all tailors will refuse to help a person.

QFE!!

I love making schematics for chefs. They almost always provide the resources (since, atleast on my server, Chefs make a helluva lot more $$ than tailors), it takes like 2 seconds, and i usually get a nice tip (even though, since it's not my resources i would never charge for something so simple.) My only guess is you asked the wrong tailor. *shrug* Sorry you had such a bad experience. Most tailors I know are sweethearts!

I am a tailor on Bria, and yes, I will make a schematic for you, if

a) you don't expect me to travel through the whole galaxy "to quickly meet up" with you
b) you will let me do the schematic in my own time
c) you stop to whine about being depended on open-minded tailors, who refuse a "generous" 5k offer
d) you are polite to twi'lek women

So, just give me a /tell or send me an email ingame to get in contact.

BTW:

  • Don't ask Master Tailors to make a schematic for you, most tailors, who hit Master-Title are annoyed by just making a non-creative schematic for s/o who can spare 30 mio for an apron

  • Any aspiring tailor can make trims (at novice?), so ask some of the newbies, they can need the money

  • Don't be greedy, you will earn thousands if not millions with these 1000 trims, so spread the money and offer more, depending on the tailor's progression in the trades (I won't make the schematic for 10k, be promised, but maybe a novice will)

  • Most important: Be kind, don't interrupt a trade or design session and be patient, if the tailor asks you to wait some time to finish a trade/fitting/custom order

I don't mind do orders for anyone no matter what they want. I try to keep a stock of all factory run components on my vendors.

I don't have a problem selling them for 25K for a crate of 25 items.

The couple of times i have actually made a scheme for someone they paid me 50k for the scheme. I didn't ask for that amount they tipped me the amount. But like i said before.. i don't make these. It was one of those rare occasions when a friend needed a favor.

Isell my full runs (1000 pieces) as follows.. and i think these are very reasonable prices:

fiberplast 60k

reinf 130k

trim 125k

syn 105k

I never put single crates on my vendor, and i have full runs on my vendor at all times.

Wow your server is SO different from mine.

Meaning?

In respect to price, inflation, roleplaying or what?

  • Inflation is high on Bria, my prices represent this.

  • I became tailor to not become a supplier for other professions.

  • I am a Master Tailor, I can earn my living without making schematics for strangers.

  • Novice Tailors can truly use the credits earned by making schematics.

  • And of course I offer my services for friends/guildies for free, for normal customers for a more than fair pricescheme (working for tips only, so anyone may tip me whatever he/she can afford)

  • Non-friends/guildies asking for a schematic will be asked for a tip too, if they cant think of a price or a bargain I will ask a huge amount, because I don't like unimaginative people.

  • Roleplaying is encouraged, so any player acting in style (not necessarily a true roleplayer) will receive a nive bonus

Trim is earned at Formal 1. Therefore any tailor who can make dress slippers or dress shoes can make you a schematic.

Before I put my shop on hold, I used to stock full runs of trim and other components. There's no way I'd make schematics for someone, especially for 5k. I can sell my own full runs for 100k, which aside from mining and factory costs, is full profit. If they wanted more than I had stocked, I'd be happy to make a special order. I wouldn't make a schematic for someone I didn't know, because not only does it cut into my business, but I know that there are other tailors that sell components. Components are a big money making business, why should I make the economy of my chosen profession suffer for your convenience? The onlypeople I make schematics for are my good friends. Maybe you should make some tailor friends if you want to get something for basically nothing.

I agree let me tell a story:

waaay back before I mastered, I was planning to stop selling cheap schematics (as a favor for folks grinding armorsmith) and crates (since I'll need them myself) once I hit master... then I made up my mind when I told one of my schem customers. instead of asking nicely (like other folks) or bribe, he cussed me out.

... oooh yeah, I never sold any schematics after that. it's not worth the time and effort, and although MOST folks are nice and courteous, I really don't want to risk having to deal with smacktard/fagnerd/idiots/etc

Fortunately I have not had too many rude customers and most will take the time to listen to advice on clothing issues ( Tarqis a pretty friendly server). I dont make schematics either now but will do runs of trim for people when asked. The only cussing out is whenI make wookie pillows for a town MAS and she finds out how good the wooly hide was I used was but as I hunt on my alt thats my choice I like to strive to make the best pillows I can or to the MAS's specs but even then she does'nt get the schem but the finished product off me
