Thread: So Taloirs Want More Respect

I have nothing but the greatest respect for taloirs. Some of my best friends are taloirs. Some are even clotheirs.
Not anymore, they're not! SOE must have gotten tired of our complaining...that title got fixed.

oh congrats on your uber +bleed resistance shirt. I really hope you paid a premium for it, since they dont work. Which would be the only reason why I dont sell them.
one more reason tailors should be extra nice to customers and pooh on them on the boards. go read your "gotta love this" thread and you'll see why i have a vedetta aginst you people.

So Olioret, Help us jerk Tailors understand what it is You want? Your mad at a Tailor so you vent on us? Or, your just a jerk your self and decided that this day was "Bash Tailors" day? Or, Your really so dense you don't understand the concept of clothing???
Sorry, I just don't get you. You went from sounding a bit addled by the Tailoring proffession. To being just plain hateful.
finally someone actually wants to exchange ideas instead of just insults. here is the the short history. i went to a tailor for help in what clothing was available and what exactly a tailor was capable. i was thinking that they could craft clothes that has bonuses. like a chef can buff, i figure tailors clothes has some reason for the non-rp gamers. so basically he tells me to go look up some tailor websites and find out then come back. i figure he is the exception and just a random jerk. so i come here and ask about tailoring and receive no response.
link no longer available
then i happen to read someone else having a similar experience. he wussed out in the end but it is obvious that the kemmer did indeed laugh at him for not knowing what tailors could do.

then one of these idiot tailors starts a look a "look at this retard, who knows nothing about tailoring" thread and all of you chime in laughing and rediculing.

now as i went on urging so good tailors to speak up and make your profession shine all i got was resentment for even mentioning the fact that a lot of you are jerks. jerks when half the stuff you make is bugged or outright doesn't work. i figure if i was selling damaged goods i would try to make for that defficiency with better customer service. not you guys though. anyways, the result is a lack of respect for you ninnies and the profession drying up

to summarize i know there are some kool tailors but they are few and far between. i like the diea of tailors and even considered it as a profession. however if the profession sucks so bad that i will turn into one of you hags i want no part of it. i would rather remain an under tipped but appreciated doc/cm medic.

see me as you like, so long as you understand "i like the idea of tailors", but the majority of you are jerks.

What exactly do you expect the response to be if I went onto one of the healing boards and said 'Most of you are jerks. Can I get some help?"? I think resentment is an understatement.
Your initial post implied that we would only get respect from you if we could give you an ingame advantage besides 'looking cool' - from which it follows, through no fault of ours, that we would get no respect. Hardly the best start to negotiations.
We like the idea of customers, butsome ofthem are jerks too ![]()
my intial post was not this one, the initial response was ometime ago and no longer listed in my posts listing. this was my second post and i contributed to a third.
"i want no part of it. i would rather remain an under tipped but appreciated doc/cm medic."
So why are you still here then? Go troll the medic boards. I think the main reason you aren't getting the response you want here is that no one wants to encourage your incoherent and somewhat unintelligible whining, or worse yet end up with you in their shop. You want no part of tailoring or tailors, well guess what the feeling is mutual.

i stay just so that you know and are constantly reminded that your community (tailors) are not contributing in a positive mannr to the forums or the swg realms. btw did i mention that some of you sell your wares as cheap as they should be considering the benifit or wearng them.
you know... after further consideration. you're right. why should try and stimulate your pathetic profession. i give up. besides i can craft my clothes with the same effectiveness that you guys can. noone wears the starter clothes so i will even be unique. chalk me up as just another unsatisfied customer. see you in the med center

Well, then, you're failing, because, from where I can see, you're just a single guy ranting endlessly. If we had 20, 10, even 5 people in here complaining about us, you might have a point, but it's just you. One guy with a weird grudge. At first, I took you for a troll, but I'm starting to think that you are serious, albeit off in your own world.
Show me the community backlash against tailors, and you'll find a lot of people reflecting on their actions. As it is, it seems the only person in the SWG community who has a problem with tailors is yourself.
With all due respect, I don't know what exactly you are upset about, because you seem to make a lot of "accusations"
- Are you upset because some tailors were rude answering to legitimate questions you asked, or because someone sold you bio enhanced clothing and scammed you into thinking they worked ?
In both cases, you have some rights to be upset, andyour concerns are valid but please note that
1) Not all tailors are like that (I have answered questions many times about that subjects, however I can't answer to everyone
) and generally try to be constructive and polite, like many other tailors. Don't let bad apples ruin the whole basked ... like I won't judge the medic community by the image you are giving on those boards ![]()
2) Some tailors, just because they play the game with confidence and don't read messages boards 24/7 genuinely don't know skill mods don't work
3) About politeness or rudeness, it's generally difficult to tell who is right or who is wrong without knowing the facts
- Or, are you upset by the fact that you feel "cheated", you don't understand that tailors charge prices based on the real COST of their products (time, ressources, factory, maintenances, work needed to reach xxx level of skill) just as any artisan, instead of the perceived in-gmae , non roleplaying "value" of a colored piece of tissue over yout character model ? In that case, you are entitled to your opinion, but spitting on our "pathetic profession" just because it caters to non-powergamers is not right, and "pathetic" trolling. This is how it is designed. It is a service that most (not all) people need, and appreciate because of the way they want to enjoy their MMORPG experience. What is useless for you is not "useless" for many people. I have medic friends already (by the way, I am master tailor, and almost master pistoleer, is that badass enough ?), I don't even play on your server. So you are kinda "useless" to me. But I won't say I won't respect you
- "Respect" is a word that has lost most of its meaning those days. Now, "respect" is more and more only used for schoolyard bullies or rude people that can punch your face, instead of beeing related to the friendliness, and moralevalue of the guy... sigh. Being able to exploit jaxes, bandwagon jump on using whatever FOTM ability is (pets, ATST, knockdown, non LOS mind dots, whatever), or generally just blowing up binary stuff that only exist in a computer server... where exactly lies the "respect" ? Is a master Commando "badass" ? Yes. Is he worthy of respect ? Maybe, but it depends on the player behind the toon. Whether so and so profession can not increase some entry in the database for your charcter is pretty irelevent.
And I'd kindly suggest to calm down, and start to apologize
According to the last dev post on the bio engineered boards, bio tissues will be fixed and revamped in next big patch. So the services of tailors will also be needed for the 3l33t folks.
On Wanderhome, at least, this isn't universally true. I've made a point of finding ways low-end clothing can combine with the "stuff everyone wants," and it's true that there are some very nice combinations which can include clothes from theDomestic Arts tree. That said, best of luck with your future pursuits!
