The weaponsmiths, armorsmiths, and tailors are the richest players in the game and now they get another way to make even more money!!
BS!
Yes, you have produced BS. Kindly do not repeat that offense.
If you'll excuse me, I'm off to run missions. I have to do that to support my house and four harvesters, because stupid cheap bastards with guns don't pay me enough to craft.
55 new colors are all well and good (I remember having a huge palette for a brief moment during beta before Artisan and Tailoring customization were consolidated). However, aren't we missing the bigger problem here? The problem where a large majority of items, such as practically all footwear and gloves, as well as cloaks, dusters, some vests and jackets, some dresses, and a good deal of other items are stuck using highly restricted palettes? It seems that most of the items that have this problem contain a large percentage of hide, so I assume the logic here is that items made out of animal hide are supposedly harder to color than regular clothing. I'm tired of trying to explain to my customers why I can't make their gloves and boots match the rest of their custom outfit. Come on, we can build a Death Star, but we can't dye boots a proper shade of blue? The Star Wars universe is full of vibrant colors, but a large selection of items are stuck using the 'hide' palette, which only has paltry, dull, greyish shades of blue, green, etc. Items such as cloaks and dusters are even further restricted; they only monochromes, browns, some greens, and pink and yellow for some reason. One item in particular has me completely perplexed, however. The 'dress robe' seems to have its own unique palette, with (if I recall correctly) 6 or 7 hues, but about 20 incredibly redundant shades of each hue. Let's get some more coloring love soon!

They said they're fixing it and soon. And from the sounds of it, either before or in the next big publish, which supposedly goes out just about monthly.
This is a good response. Heck, none of these issues is killing anybody's business, so I'm fine if they want to fix the commando profession first, or make sure housing limits are reasonable.
The fixes that you've given us so far are great, still working out the kinks I know but thank you. Now I'd realy like to suggest one thing that I'd realy like to see for us tailors. I already posted this on another thread but I'm hoping that reposting it here might get it a bit of attention. I think it's a good idea and a lot of the people I make clothes for would love it and so would all my other tailor friends. Here's my idea.
Make a catalogue for tailoring andmaybe even for some of the other professions wherethe cosmeticvalue ofitems is important (like furniture for architechts)
With these new house limits making it more difficult to have a "showroom" of all we can craft and since we are unable to carry a mockup of every single item we have.It would be awesome ifthere was some way we could have the schematics previewable by other classes. I don't mind at all if they can't see what colors we can make, I can explain those but I'm sick to death of trying to explain the difference between a pleated skirt and a fashionably pleated skirt without making them up and using resources just for someone to say "oh I don't like either of those."
It would be realy cool if novice tailors, or maybe master artisans, could craft a tailoring catalogue and it would have the items sorted by level instead of type but otherwise be like a clothing and armor crafting tool that doesn't craft, any person could use it and would be able to see the names and the default preview image thing that we get when we go to make an item. It would always show through master level items because if someone says "I like the gunman's duster" you can always say check back with me in a few days or whatever. I think it would realy help out and the time and effort and space it would save tailors would be invaluable and to my non-technical mind it doesn't sound like it would be something terribly difficult to impliment. Architechts could use the same thing with furniture and customers can either buy one for themselves to have arround or the artisans could trade to them so they can look it over and trade back. It would also serve the purpose of motivating crafters and helping them plan their path because if either they or their customers realy like an item that's at say Fieldwear IV then they can plan on going up fieldwear instead of spreading things out evenly every tier or whatever.
I honestly think that this would be the number one thing that would make tailoring much more enjoyable for me. (Especialy once that necklace thing gets fixed and people can see those in the catalog too.)
Thanks for your time in reading over my post.

Er.. I'm going to have to disagree with that one![]()
Webbysk, that is a great idea! Especially if a Master Artisan was given the ability to craft the catalog. They get few things of value to make for hitting master anyway, and artisans are the base for almost all craft professions. This could be in a book form, crafted with wood (paper) and inert petrochemicals with a bit of metal. Or it could be in a datapad form (more logical) using such components as a data storage module and one or 2 items made by the master artisan then combined into the final product. This could also include which color palettes are available for the items and point out color areas. But, the colors should not be a part of the book, just the palette names and color areas.
I would gladly buy a hundred or so from one if this was ever an option, and hand them out to my clients. I imagine their biggest business though, would be from the everyday player wanting to know what things are available.
What I think Tailors should be able to make are color swatches for display purposes. We generally have a few palette sets- leather, metal, cloth. Some are oddly restricted in color selection for some reason but for the most part the colors follow a pattern. I envision a sort of hanging rug, to go on a wall, with the palette selections available. The tailor could create new swatches with each advance in the Tailoring line with a final at Master.
I think both of these ideas would greatly cut down on the need for display space (read database entries here devs) and the "what can you make and in what colors" questions. And the clients would be much happier seeing upfront what colors each tailor can make. Even a novice could show her swatches in a trade window if a shop for display was not an option. What do the rest of you think?
What's this craziness? Now my clothes will decay? More zany antics from the Devs.
Seriously, congrats guys - good response on what I know is your top issue. Guess I can keep the waypoints to my favorite tailor shops after all ![]()
great googa mooga, i'm gonna be one happy tailor when this stuff is done. (not that i'm not now, just i'll be happy to see some repeat customers!)
