One more thing to add to my long post...and no I was never known for brevity and I type to dang fast for my own good.

I think you are basing it on the idea that if an architect harvests 10k of resources a day and a tailor harvests 10k of resources a day that the tailor because of the higher rate per unit will make the most money. That's simply not true. Our resource needs are miniscule compared to an architect. We can harvest til the cows come home, but it doesn't mean that it will all sell. Per night seriously, I may go 2k total of resources, fiberplast, metal, polymer, chrystals. He will go through all of his resources that were harvestested for the day. I can harvest and now that I don't grind anymore will have a huge stockpile. While he still depletes his harvest daily.

Does that make sense? Just because we harvest the same amount doesn't mean I'll use the same amount. It won't make that cost per resource equivilent at all. Don't know how else to explain it. The volume is different. The rate of return is higher per unit for a tailor yes, but the volume will never meet an architect. Never, ever, in a billion light years. And that is how an architect makes so much money. No one else can touch the type of volume to get that many credits in one shot. To go through the same amount of resources it takes to build a large house (and I may be off on the resource needs for a large house but I've used the most conservative estimation for it, I do actually believe it's higher) I would have to make approximately 185 fleshwraps and SELL them in the same amount of time he sells one large house. Fleshwraps are a really hot item, but I'd like one Master tailor on these boards say yeah, that's me I sell 185 fleshwraps continually every night I play.

Wow, I must be in the right place or on the right server because I rather consider that my 622k credits as of this morning is fairly rich this early in the game, and all from tailoring. I got my shop set up early, I still put some nice items on the bazaar and I'm close to coronet, which all has to help. As well as generally good word of mouth, but I can't think of anything I can even use all those credits on, I already have two of the best weapons I've seen on the server, the third is limited by lack of resources and I can't use a T21 yet anyway, which is good since no one can make one either. If I wanted to wear armor, I could afford it, but I just can't justify the HAM penalties it would incur on me for no more fighting than I really do.

I guess if having everything you want and need in game to do what you want is poor, then tailoring is definitely a poor trade

Speaking of tailors and architects... Not long ago I sold a fusion generator and a deep crust to a master tailor on our server for 300k, and he payed additional 50k for delivery. That money more than doubled my bank account at that time, and I'd been a master for a week already. Yes, you can make a lot of money as an architect if you place dozens extractors on your friends' lots but what if you're solo and you have to buy at least some of the resources? That's quite another story. You see, you can easily sell high level items 10 credits per resource so you don't even have to mine your resources if you want to have more time for crafting and interacting with customers. You can easily cover your expenses if you buy resources at 2-3 per unit. It's impossible with architects selling their stuff for 3 per resource. Even if you don't make millions as fast as an architect, at least you'll always stay in business. There're so many houses, factories, harvesters you can sell, while people like variety in items and colors. Then when the bio components start working you'll get tons of requests for enhanced clothing. Finally, the decay for clothingis promised to be implemented very soon while there's no chance for structure decay so soon. You can't really compare these two professions but the more I think about it the more I'm likely to abandon architecture in favor of tailoring. It'sthebestchoice of professionif you like dealing with people.

Ah there are ways to do it Jeditao. My husband had met one architect (incidentally one who gave him free training all the way to master and they are good good friends now) that would exchange extractors, houses, whatever, for the use of lots for a period of time. He is one of the richest guys on the server. Another architect does almost the same thing just instead of using lots it's a payment in resources once they get their harvesters. My husband did about the same thing, just a little different. He made the extractors gave them an enormous price discount,in exchange forbuying half the ore harvest these people got for 2cr a unit and in exchange they get a huge discount on anything they may ever need. It's been a good deal on both sides. There are ways to do it, but the ones who do, I still contend, a successful architect who puts time and thought into it, can easily make up to 5 times as much as a tailor who puts the same kind of time into it. I dunno, I guess I should pump and grind and only work for filling my vendor. Instead, I find myself having little time to fill my vendor because I take so much time with customers. A different play style I guess.

its is only if you are willing to put out allot of effort. i was once very excited about my profesion and i did very good i think but then things started to change. people became more demanding and the shade isnt right can you make another, that isnt right either can you try again. and all the time there is a line waiting and 10 people messaging me about questions. in the last few weeks though i have tried to keep some items on vender and put some one bazzaar while i walked outside to see the worlds. and now i am not sure i am going to go back. just imageon if you ever worked retail thats it.. some tailors have alot of money now days i can barely break even in a week with changing havestors and everything. now with this change in vender maitenence one might not even be able to be a part time tailor. i guess we just have to wait =)
